I take you along on a scenic drive up into the Kolob Canyons of Zion National Park. It's March 9th, 2022, and there is still some snow clinging to the huge red rock formations.
Beautiful scenery and a treat to see the red rocks with snow on them. Thanks for taking us along. 👍

Nice one Ray! Also thanks for including the info on the Canyon -nice to know that the "red rock" is Sandstone. I always appreciate it when a little detailed information of the scenery we are looking at is included. So many TH-cam clips of others leave us in the dark as to what exactly IS that beauty we are looking at! I often wonder if that color "beauty" we are looking at is really only "skin deep" or is the real majesty the shape, the form, the height, the tilt, and the massive energies that were the underlying artists of their phenomena?
I'll let you in on a nice "secret", just up the road. Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park!

Thanks! I used my Sony AX53 camcorder for both the video footage and the still shots. Dashcam footage was from my Thinkware Q800 Pro. Cheers, Ray

Yes, Kolob Canyon is part of Zion and you need pass or pay fee to enter. www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/kolob-canyons.htm
"Kolob Canyons Visitor Center: Hours of Operation
All guests are required to stop at the Kolob Canyons Visitor Center to show an Interagency Park Pass or pay the Zion National Park entrance fee."

Thanks for the beautiful travelogue Ray. It's been some time since you've done an update of the equipment and software you use, I found one from six years ago, surely you've changed up some stuff since then. I'd be interested in an update, maybe even just a 'short'?
I bought a new camcorder in 2018 Sony AX53. Here was the review www.loveyourrv.com/love-your-rv-gets-a-new-4k-camcorder-sony-fdr-ax53/ It's been my main tool. Other than video it takes great photos too. I often use it, like in this video or I still have my old Sony NEX5 still camera.
For software, I use fairly inexpensive programs on my windows laptop. My main editors are Corel Videostudio $99 www.videostudiopro.com/en/products/videostudio/ultimate/ and PhotoScapeX Pro $39.99 x.photoscape.org/ Sometimes I use Davinci Resolve Free Version for certain tasks like creating photo time-lapses www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/ Cheers, Ray

What satellite maps are you using Ray? Beautiful!!
It actually just Google Maps in a web browser www.google.com/maps on my laptop. I use the satellite layer option. Then hold down the Ctrl key on my Windows laptop and the left mouse button. Then I can move and spin the sat image around and the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. I use screen capture software to record for the video.
