An economy figure of 7.5 L/100 km is claimed but we were bouncing between 9L & 10L, and performance figures were not supplied. The Jolion S comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox

The Jolion HEV sorts out the fuel economy problem, but it has a smaller boot because the battery are fitted underneath the boot. Also, for the same reason, the HEV version doesn’t have a spare wheel - it has one of those kits for repairing a damaged tire. I would therefore go for the S, because I’m told the fuel efficiency improves as you clock more kilometres.

That's still better than my BMW 320i E92 Coupe which I've had for 10 years now, it averages 11.5/100km. I'm used to this fuel economy, it woukd feel the same to me if I had the Jolion.

How punchy is the engine? A friend of mine test drove it and felt it was underpowered for his liking. Does it take a strain when overtaking?

The Jolion S makes absolutely no sense. Its not much more powerful, its not much more in any department. Just get the HEV, you get more kw more torque and more fuel economy. Its just a show off car.
