Architectural Details | Floating Basement Floor

As we look at creating a super insulated envelope, we cannot forget about below the slab.In a traditional basement slab, there will be between 2-4” of insulation, but in a passive home, we use about 9”.
In this assembly, we did not use a concrete slab to hold the foundation walls up, we use rebar which did 2 things…
It reduced the amount of embodied carbon
It created a much softer floor

It's not clear to me what you did. I know you put down foam, but what do you put over it?

Most likely plywood. The rigid foam needs to be protected somehow.
