It’s a shame so much is based on algorithms now. So much could barely be found that could be great. It makes me think what can be considered a classic or a franchise might not survive today. I mean Jurassic park barely had dinosaurs for almost an hour.
@@avifor5772 Film Courage is just about the best channel out there for serious screenwriters. I wish I'd known about them when I first started going for paying gigs.
I don't have amazon but I can see them doing with independent films like they do with regular merchandise. Collect data on what's being bought and then put their own version of that product first in it's listings. So amazon may be in the "first hit is free from the drug dealer" phase. If they were so good to independent films with getting them out there at first, what's coming next is the pushing. "You got to do it our way now..."
Hi Film Courage, love your contents! Would be cool if you have some kind of offline event that we all can meet the people you interviewed and have Q&A sessions for the audience.
LOL! Yep. Know the feeling. That's my life too. Glad it ended up great. Food always makes things better. Also glad your little one got her well-earned hat back.
Great insights. J. Horton gives awesome info. HOWEVER, the screenplay hook in 10 pages never was a thing. Always has been that you need to hook the reader on the first page and if you can do it in the first sentence, even better.
So ,when did this change? Am I missing something? Two years ago I started producing my animated sci-fi series Phungus & Mowld, put it up on Amazon Prime and I'm publishing new episodes whenever they're done (I'm a one-man operation, so roughly one ep. a year). Whether the series is available via SVOD in the regions is at the sole discretion of Amazon staff/algorithms, but whenever I upload a new episode, it usually returns to SVOD for at least a year. And I don't even have a notable viewer base at all.
Can we upload the webseries on Amazon Prime Direct . If not Why does it provide options to upload webseries contents , Bank account for revenue sharing . etc .

Follow the 1% rule. 90,000,000 Amazon viewers X 0.01 who might find your newbie film listed = 900,000 potential viewers X 0.01 actual viewers who care = 9,000 views/1 hour ea. $0.20 = $1,800 R.O.I. Be upfront with investors.
Lesson one; be original Lesson two; respect your audience Lesson three; respect your literary better who in a single novel achieved more for literature and entertainment than your entire corporation ever will. The “Rings of Power” will not save the WOKE agenda, they have only the power to destroy.
This man has single-handedly given us the game. It’s because of him I pushed off outside of TH-cam.
I would love to see a panel or event with several of these speakers at once. Or even some small time writers who are doing minor paid gigs.

As someone who wants to get my movie on Amazon over the next few months, this video was a fantastic watch!!
Great to hear! We also recommend visiting J. Horton's TH-cam channel. He has a ton of content like this - th-cam.com/users/JHorton
@@filmcourage thank you!! I am so glad to have found this channel years ago because you have helped me so much ❤

What is the best distribution platform for independent filmmakers right now?
tubi
I like Tubi too
I'm quickly becoming a TUBI fan.

AMZN) has announced that its Prime Video Direct platform has stopped accepting unsolicited documentary and short film submissions.
Great Guest. ; )

Nice!
This was really good
Thanks for watching!
Good solid info. Thanks for that.
Thanks for watching Paul!
A lot of interesting stuff in this of which I was totally unaware with regard to Amazon :-)
Look forward to Film Courage SXSW panel 👍🏻
I bet it WAS planned to get rid of indie filmmakers, but i do get that lots of cheap stuff was goin on there
Good tips. Very well said.
Thanks for watching!
Nice J.
Amazon Prime is raising their prices for customers... But for filmmakers ?
Cool.
That's interesting
Wow. Like doing the limbo at the roller rink, but less fun? idk, Prudish, low attention spans and engaging is such an odd challenge isn't it?
I was gonna put the SERE Challenge on Amazon, until I found out about the captions requirement. What a joke
What is SERE challenge?
I've actually thought about using Amazon and I have been looking for information. This is great information.
Much more on J. Horton's channel - th-cam.com/users/JHorton
Nowadays people make videos, not films. We are more like streamers, not fimmakers.
Interesting defense of Amazon. When "The Rings of Power" flops, perhaps they'll learn a lesson or two.
It won't flop coz people will still "hate watch it". The best solution is to just pretend it doesn't exist

I absolutely agree with these points.
