    how are you feeling today about using your new CDI? i have a Polini installed and agree with the difficult starting. i'm a bit reluctant to take it off as i saw some of your issues with the new one.

      I’ve never regretted removing the Polini, it caused issues with stalling and starting that I didn’t like at all. The Kitaco is far better but you do have to buy the PC link unit so you can boost fuel supply, the iMap on it’s own doesn’t do much. It’s not a cheap option but it’s far more reliable

    I wondered why my 2009 Zoomer is a pain to start, I'll be removing the Polini CDI soon! Hopefully it's as simple as you say.

      Starting and stalling issues are classic drawbacks of the Polini CDI. Removal is very easy, hopefully it solves your problems 👍

      @@scottishzoomer did you have any better luck with the katako CDI?

      @scottishzoomer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jimmcd1992 in short yes, the Kitaco iMap works well and has dramatically improved my bikes performance. However you not only need the iMap itself, you also need the PC link cable to create your own maps

      I think there may be a European based supplier, might be worth an internet search

    How has the Kitaco CDI been working ? I have one installed and I feel no difference from stock at all :/

    • @scottishzoomer
      @scottishzoomer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience simply installing the iMap does almost nothing, you need to have the “optional” Kitaco PC link cable. This allows you to use the free software and via a laptop, manually adjust the fuel percentages the engine receives. Once you do that the iMap comes into it’s own. My bikes acceleration has improved dramatically over stock. I’m getting a top speed of 37mph with my 16 stone weight on board and I’m sure it will go faster once I have more time to tweak the fuel settings and play around with different slider weights.

      @@scottishzoomer Just watched your other videos and I am going to order the programming cable and a Air fuel Meter :) I guess ideally one needs a RPM gauge to see that you are hitting max rpm at the same time you hit max speed.
      Thank you for putting effort into making these videos :)

      @@eggertakerlie7320 yes, that’s the one I used, and I’m still using. Much better initial acceleration, top speed around 37mph (bear in mind I have add ons bolted on to the bike and I’m around 224lb in weight too 😄)

      Thanks for answering my question. What does a second hand Polini CDI fetch these days as I'll be moving mine on once it's been removed.
