    How many of you guys are using smart objects in Photopea? If so, it would be great if you could let me know how you use them 👍 And for those who don't... what are you waiting for?
    Apologies it's taken me longer than normal to get a video out - thanks for your patience. You all rock, and I really appreciate all the support!

      Also, just noticed that later in the video I chose red colour brush, but ended up painting in white anyway 😂 what a Pro.

      I've been having a blast putting my own created artwork on coffee mugs. I know, not terribly exciting but still. I'd love to learn some tips on how to warp my artwork more effectively, and how to make an image from one source, which is added to a different image, to match in terms of hue, tone and depth. I'd also *really* love to learn how to add the illusion of shine and shadow to make the blending of two images more realistic. Thanks for all you do to help aspiring new graphics artists learn the Photopea functions and capabilities!

    This video is absolutely amazingly helpful! Wow. I thought I needed fancy PSD files for mockups, looks like I can probably make my own from this simple yet fantastic video. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    so your part about distorting a smart object is EXACTLY what ive been searching for but you really should have told us HOW to find the free transform tool (Edit > Free Transform or ctrl+alt+T) for all us n00bs out here haha it takes a while to find when you aren't familiar with all the correct lingo.
    Still, dropped a like!

    i would love to see a little vid on how to save/create normal and alpha maps... i could in PS but haven't found how i can do it in gimp, krita or in corel...

    • @photopeapro
      @photopeapro  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Photopea has a feature to create Normal Maps... but I've personally never used it. You can access it via the 'Filter>3D' menu. Have a play around and see if that gives you what you are looking for :) I don't think you will find any more sophisticated 3D tools in the software currently, but who knows for the future!

    Is there a way to apply filters non-destructively to animations (gifs)?

    Thanks for the tutorial, I'm a beginner with Photopea. I don't know why whenever I try to edit and use free transform to resize images or do any adjustments, it tells me I have to rasterize the layer. So I do that and this cancels the smart object feature.
    Also, how do I do multiple layers that are connected to the smart object layer but in different positions? Like say you wanted to make a snowflake storm and wanted every snowflake to be in a different position, but they should also be connected and have changes happening to them through the smart objects layer. Is this doable?

      Hi there, thanks for the comment and welcome to Photopea! To be honest, i'm not sure why you are having problems transforming smart objects, but I just made this quick video for you to hopefully help a little more with the concept of Smart objects you are unsure about. I hope this helps!

    What is the downside of using Smart Objects? Why isn't everything a smart object?

    • @photopeapro
      @photopeapro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Smart objects can make your document file size larger, and potentially cause Photopea to slow down more. My personal rule of thumb is, if I'm just doing a quick one off image that won't be used again or that use some layers that I know won't need to be adjusted in the future, I'll keep them rasterized. But If feel that there is a chance i'd need to adjust certain layers in the future, i'd make them Smart Objects. So if you generally have performance issues with Photopea, you might want to be a little more selective about how many smart objects you create.
