The Lovely Bones is one of my favorite books. Yes it start out with a murder, but in a weird way it's a story of hope. One of the books that changed my life. I'm so glad you're reading it and I hope you like it.

I read Lovely Bones about a year after my best friend died, and cried the whole way through. I am never reading another book my mother suggests. I prefer Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine. She writes many really good fairy tale based novels.

Oh no, The Lovely Bones is SAD SAD SAD. It's an amazing book though, it's so poignant. Tears were shed. I tried reading Jane Sebold's other book (Lucky), but it was just...depressing. I really like Chuck Palahniuk too. You should try to track down "Haunted" - it's a collection of short stories, but they're "written" by the fictional characters inside the novel...and he works it all together into an overall story. It's just as gory as I'm sure Snuff was...
We just got an Alice Sebold in the mail this week. You're beating me quite badly in the reading game. I've considered going to collge in Seatlle. But I don't think that I could ever afford it. And Jazza has completely spoiled any chance at surprises.

Lovely Bones was great. Gets kinda weird near the end, but I really liked it. Haven't read Snuff yet, it's on my to-read list. Choke is awesome. Probably my third favourite Phalaniuk book. I really recommend his book "Survivor" if you haven't read it yet.

A good book you should read is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. It is such a good book!
