  • This is a garage video of how I replaced the serpentine belt on a 2016 Nissan Versa. The tolls needed will be shared in this video and her in the description. Tools needed; Jack, Lug Wrench, 13 mm socket, socket wrench and maybe a breaker bar, T-20 Torx driver, Phillips screw driver, Flat head screw driver and a pair of pliers. This should be a job that takes less than an hour. I hope this video helps you.

    My 2016 is fraying belts now... suspect tension pulley. I'm replacing that... one thing I was hoping to see was HOW TIGHT the belt should be?

    Good video except forgot to mention how much tension. How to tell when it is tensioned enough...?

    I couldn’t loosen the bolt with the 13 mm because it was way too tight.

    Replaced the belt last week and now have loud squeak in the mornings when cold start? Over-tencion or something else?

      @homemadechow3532  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without knowing more, I would say there is not enough tension. There is a way to test it. If you drop a little water on the belt when running and it squeaks. Then the tension is too loose. Not always accurate but a simple test.

    great video thanks, what a pain in the ass they made doing this belt. doing my mom's belt on her versa. on my truck no panels need removing and there's tons of room to work with. dealership wanted $120 just for labor to do the belt lol

    Does anyone know the sizes of the clips for the wheel cover? I destroyed mine taking them off. Bought new ones, but they don’t seem to fit. I think there are two sizes total.

    There is a special body panel tool for taking the plastic fasters of it looks similar to a cat claw screwdriver but spaced larger to go around plastic faster .Im not sure of proper name but highly recommend using one in order to keep from breaking plastic fasteners .If damaged most auto part stores can order them if not in stock

      Sorry for my delay. I would just go on one of the auto part websites and put in your make model and year and they will ensure you get the right one.

    How many milage lifetime for this drive belt? Is there a recommended mileage?

      Generally every 100,000 miles.

      For the Nissan Versa, I’ve heard that it commonly needs replaced after about 30k miles, which is also what I’ve experienced.
      The belt that I’m buying tomorrow says 3 year warranty, but I’ve never in my life claimed a warranty. Maybe I should.

      @raulmunozrosado9348 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      might not be tight enough or the grooves are misaligned. Belt or pulley misalignment is a common issue that causes changed serpentine belts to still squeal. It means that the grooves on your belt are not aligned with the ones on your pulley.

    • @garykick9825
      @garykick9825 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      check tensioner pulley, idler pulley, alternator, power steering and water pump for noise ..just spin them with belt of also if belt tension is to tight you can get noise as well as not tight enough.
