Man most people are super selfish with information in 2021, thank you coach for being so generous, especially during difficult times where a lot of us can't go in the gym and work like we used to. Love from Canada.
Boxing is shared knowledge. No one has a patent on a move or technic, because you could teach some one something not knowing it was taught some where else. Coach Anthony is the truth. Much respect...
The key to slipping a 1 two is to slip only once. Don't try slipping left then right, you'll get knocked out if your opponent is fast. Cus D amato used to tell this to his students.
Just finished that five-day program you posted and it was a real killer, going to work it into my monthly routine. You really do give out the good stuff.
Thx coach they’re all GREAT videos and very valuable. I’ve been tuning in for me, but now I have a 6yr old great grandson that’s interested....I’m on you! Once I get a Beginner package for him for you! Btw I really adore the peekaboo.
Most people who just started boxing are not comfortable with slipping punches, they usually pull their heads back and lean backwards instead of slipping because they're afraid of getting punched. Slipping is a risky defensive technique , I don't expect any beginners to slip like Mike Tyson right from the beginning. It takes guts, and lots of practice to be successful in slipping punches.
Great video! In general, I’m really loving your lessons. I’m new to boxing, and your channel is already making a world of sense to me and addressing many of the questions and issues that I’m encountering as a beginner. Thanks so much 🙏👍🏼🥊
aLw Adrain Tacoma Washington. Opponent was taller and had longer reach. I made my mistake by constantly trying to exchange jabs instead of getting on the inside and got my ass handed to me lol. Excited to run it back with more practice though
Good stuff bro. I had my first sparring session last week too. Four rounds, four different partners, 3 min rounds. I’m going for MMA, but I realized I need a lot of work as well. Let’s get our skills up 👌🏾
Situational awareness if the key to the proper application of skills both offensively and defensively. It can mean the difference between success and failure.
Thank you so much. I m a southpaw who eats rights on a regular. 4, count em 4 coaches had me do this exercise, but now I know WHEN to use it. Then I just reverse engineer the first part of this story (slip back ant to the side, or roll the loops). This is game changer and imma send this to myself.
I love these Coach Anthony 💯 thanks so much!!!! can you please do some videos on defense from over hand rights lefty/righty? I kept getting tagged by it today it’s always been a weakness bc im tall i guess i’m not sure what to do
A thing I like about slipping the 2 is, if I think it they are throwing a straight cross, but they throw the 1,2 instead I still end up slipping out the way of both punches automatically with 1 slip. But I do prefer the slip roll under as you said. Slipping the jab then the cross is hard especially against someone who is fast. Personal preference though I guess.
Thanks for this, explained very clearly. I don't like slipping the right cross either. Now I understand it's my foot and body position. Same reason Floyd Mayweather doesn't slip the right either.
Hey Coach Ant I just copped 3 of your videos. I really appreciate the discount. Unfortunately it took me a while to save up enough to get these 3! I please ask you, maybe beg-you on behalf of your fans/fighters/subscribers, please do not get rid of your discount. Give me two more months and I’ll be able to buy all your content
Great video coach, brilliant breakdown and knowledge!!!,but asual forget about us southpaws lol,I notice Eddie has lead hand down in this video as a kickboxer I like to use that style as jab quicker and less disguised and good for catching kicks, but how comes every boxing coach is so adamant on both hands up so much ?,as I feel it blocks your vision to much personally, obviously I understand close up,but all the best boxers normally have a swagger hands down style
Man Coach I’ve been quietly watching your videos, I’m currently training for kickboxing and I’ve been holding my own in sparring against upper ranks but I’m having trouble with tall guys and I’m 5’8, we spar boxing as well, I’m having a lot of trouble getting inside without getting barraged with clubbing blows, and when I do make it in I’m having trouble throwing combinations, or even landing before he retreats and I’m exhausted just trying to catch the taller man and I don’t wanna just wait on him any advice coach sorry for the long message?
You crack me up, coach! Great instructions and perfectly timed. Just a few days ago we were working on an offensive combo followed by slipping the jab and then slipping the cross, and I you already answered the question I had about crossing the center during the transition. Thanks again!
Hey. I've got a few questions about techniques I've used for years in sparring with great success that I don't see pro's using very much. Is there a way I can ask you about them in video format to more easily demonstrate than using just words? I can film and edit and post on my own YT channel. Or I could do it some other way. Thanks.
