The key to slipping a 1 two is to slip only once. Don't try slipping left then right, you'll get knocked out if your opponent is fast. Cus D amato used to tell this to his students.

Most people who just started boxing are not comfortable with slipping punches, they usually pull their heads back and lean backwards instead of slipping because they're afraid of getting punched.
Slipping is a risky defensive technique , I don't expect any beginners to slip like Mike Tyson right from the beginning. It takes guts, and lots of practice to be successful in slipping punches.

A thing I like about slipping the 2 is, if I think it they are throwing a straight cross, but they throw the 1,2 instead I still end up slipping out the way of both punches automatically with 1 slip. But I do prefer the slip roll under as you said. Slipping the jab then the cross is hard especially against someone who is fast. Personal preference though I guess.

Another great video! I have a question for you. You have talked about slipping, parrying, blocking, going under punches, leaning back from punches I believe as well. How about pivoting to your outside to avoid straight punches and in particular the right hand? I am right handed and my opponent is right handed so when he throws a straight right i pivot at 90% to my left. Canelo found great success with this defense in the first GGG fight. Cuban boxers use it quite often and I just wanted to hear your take on it.
