A band of fearless chickens flock together to save poultry-kind from an unsettling new threat: a nearby farm that's cooking up something suspicious.
The story makes sense with the characters and circumstances, most of the jokes landed pretty well and the whole thing built off the dark implications and fight for freedom of the previous film fairly well. I don't think I have any complaints, to be honest. Nice work, Aardman ^^
It was good. Only thing that was dramatically different was Rockys arch. He was a bafoon in this. In the other one he was kind of dunb but played it serious and cool.
@@HumanHamCubethis is true but I think him settling down with Ginger and becoming a Dad also comes into play when you talk about how his demeanor changed.
He’s no longer the cool “Lone Free Ranger” playboy-ish type of guy. He has people he cares about that need him and depend on him to do his absolute best.
Even if his best is acting on feeling and jumping the gun before thinking 😂
The only jokes this movie had was references to the original movie
I was convinced watching it that aardman had moved away from spotmotion. This must have taken years. Incredible. A credit to british cinema
1:15 - Can we appreciate how many times the animator changed clothes (different days) just to animate a single sentence...
10:26 You know, the story should've been more of the brother and sister type.
Where both have to save each other.
when i was watching the movie i was eating chicken nuggets 😅😂😂
Oh no, Ms Tweedy has returned, she may have lost her job as a future chicken pie maker, but now she’s making chicken nuggets.
It’s just incredible
The fact that it's so clean to the point where it actually looks like CGI. Mind brakeing
stop motion has bin getting so good some poeple decided to make obvious mistakes to make sure poeple dont think its cgi
Watched it last night and I know what you mean some of it felt like CGI was a fun film
Laila does that imo
It’s a shame they didn’t show any of the actual CGI that’s in the movie. As it does have quite a bit.
@@btn237Yeah, but now all the studios want people to think that what is being done now is all prectical.
my childhood meets the second stage
Same brother
Same
Our childhood became a Netflix Original sequel!!! 😊
My thoughts exactly!
this movie was so well done!! so funny and a great script!! props to everyone and especially the animators!
Sort of film that should have got a cinema release.
I have a feeling they got a bigger budget by going through Netflix, plus less risk of not making a return on their money
I watched it in the movie theatre and to be honest it had a made-for-tv feel to it.. I don't think the budget was anywhere close to that of the original
I’m glad that they made a sequel, it’s got the same charm and humor as the first movie I watched and enjoyed since my childhood. Now if they make a sequel to Flush away, I’d be extremely excited.
Yesssssssss
No what are you talking about this movie is terrible compared to the first one
@LanceTheAmerican "Opinion" mean anything to you?
I saw the sequel and it was great! It was really funny! They really did a great job making this movie!
This is a fascinating process, always intrigued to watch. I loved Chicken Run as a kid, when I rewatched it I got major nostalgia from certain scenes and the soundtrack. I would have been fine without a sequel, but I'm glad it exists now. Molly was an enjoyable character, very much like Ginger, but also her own person. Or, well, chicken. I also loved that she's shaped like a grown hen, but still shorter than her parents. As someone who has raised chickens as pets, it mimics the awkward stage of growth very well. Adult colours are coming in, they've got their wings, but they're small and possibly a bit lanky. Adorable, is a way to describe it. Good work!
CHICKEN RUN 2 CAME OUT TODAY, ITS TODAY ITS TODAY 🎉
The first movie was one of the highest grossing stop motion film of all time, and no other stop motion movie since have claimed the title.
It also was the reason we got Best Animated Feature as a Oscar category, a lot of the voters were old school film fans who grew up in the 60’s when WW2 prison break films were massive
It's been 23 years
I did enjoy the movie, but I can never forgive them for not casting Julia Sawalha to reprise Ginger with the excuse that she now sounds too old (which she proved that she doesn't)... to play a character.... who is now older... 🤨
Love, love, love! Gonna be great. Props to everyone who worked on this film.
Is there a behind the scenes with the voices of the characters? I'd love to see interviews with the actors.
6:21 Mrs Tweedy (Miranda Richardson) is back
I was surprised
@@d-staxworldwidestax7112 Yeah same
i love my childhood and i'ts back thanks very much !
Thandiwe Newton didn't have half of the charm that Julia Sawalha had. A really pointless and mean-spirited recasting.
“Welcome….. To The ‘FUTURE’!”The Epitome Of Famous Aardman Animation Is BAAACCK?!?!??
Back From the Shadows Again... (sorry, couldn't resist a Firesign Theatre reference: see 'I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus'...)
One of my favourite movies 🍿❤
Really ❤
I LOVE seeing the animatics, there's some glimpses of it in here. Please release the animatics as an extra/"special features"
The movie was great
It was decent, not bad, not good. The original is still the better movie. Also it wasn't very original for a sequel
The final Aardman film to be using Newclay Products' plasticine. Because the factory that makes Aardman's specialty clay since 1972 has been shut down in March 2023.
Got the chills when the theme starts at @17:02
This was a delightful film - always love to see the geniuses at Aardman making their art!
If i see a trans chicken or LGBT flag im turning this movie off
Are you Homophobic or conservative.
Calm down, there are no gay chickens in the film. I'm sure you'll find another reason to call it woke, though, like "there are more female characters than male ones" or "one of the voice artists is Asian, it's obviously a diversity hire"...
@@ashbridgeindustries380 Thank god! 🙏 Don't need no more woke junk
Based
it was worth waiting 23 years, thank you 😁🤣😂😍👍
How can people actually like this movie? It is NOTHING compared to the first one. AARDMAN COME BACK 😭
Still don’t forgive them for replacing Julia.
The first film is so memorable to me, these voices just aren’t it. I can’t picture the voices, Julia’s and Mel’s and these just don’t live up to it.
Shame.
At the end of the first one movie, there were a lot of baby chicks trained by Fowler, but why at the second movie, Molly is becoming the only one baby chicks?
i’m sorry.I fell asleep when when watching this movie.first movie is great for me.but this one not
I like that they added the famous villain of Feathers McGraw in the final scene posing as a chicken - these little nods to the past are just brilliant! Well done Aardman
This was such a worthy sequel to Chicken Run!
Thank u director..and all the cast... I was 11 yrs old when I was watching this with my family in the morning..my late father accompany me at the time. Now he's gone when I was 13 yrs old. now I'm 34..married, n still watching it over and over again. oh I feel so young.. time passes so fast. I love this animation..
Amazing animation, they have done some great work and it looks great! But the story and the movie was not that good. The first one was better and more fun. This sequel felt a bit unnecesary and a bit boring. A pity :/
Babs is my favourite character. She is so clueless yet intelligent at the same time. Also, her innocence is very addictive. Something about the voice actor as well. It's just perfect.
I can't wait to see the movie 😊
I honestly wish we had both Nobby and Molly in the film. I love a good sibling dynamic
The stop motion animation and the blood sausage is incredible in each character and in the villain of Chicken Run 🐔🐣
a rare Netflix W
Just don't watch them back to back if you're worried about things like: "Why don't any of the characters sound like themselves?!"
Saw it yesterday, although it was entertaining... I ended up feeling a little... "empty" after the movie was over? There were a some smaller issues which annoyed me, f.ex how the director re-cast two of the main voice actors, one of em (Julia Sawalha - Ginger), because they felt she was too old?! Which is ridiculous. Also showing the main antagonist in the trailer was a HUGE plot screw-up, specially since we don't see the main villain until 30 min into the film. They also re-designed the villains, I really don't get why (I thought the husband of Mrs. Tweedy was her son)...
But the main issue I had with the film was that it lacked heart, and the story was a bit too cliche' for me. The first film merged tragedy and comedy seamlessly, with dark imagery (parallels to concentration camps, chicken getting killed off etc...) heartfelt dialogue and super funny moments. Really a shame, at how safe they played this one, and honestly, it soon ended up being a bit.... forgettable.
10:25 OMG! That's really what was supposed to be Ginger's brother in the first movie Nobby?! I've just learned that he would have made the movie "too cute" from AniMat's lookback on DreamWorks Animation! What a lost treasure found!
They really should have kept the original voices, the new voices really detract from the film
Me and my friends couldn't get lost into at all. It was just a completely different franchise compared to the first one.
How nostalgic watching our childhood cartoon movie back. Remember when I was 5 years old watching Chicken Run. Now I'm 27 years old. Time flies so fast.

I felt like there was something missing in the movie. When I think about the first movie, I think it was the way the story flowed. The movie is not as good as the first one. I hope the Chicken run universe will continue.
The animation is amazing,, but the film was way too long and didnt have a great deal of humour, compared to the original film, shame really.
10:25 - 10:30 Fun fact: Nobby was the name of a younger brother Ginger would've had in the original movie, but he was removed to make the film less "cute".
You translate for me from minute 10:15 to minute 10:30, I don't know English and that part makes me curious.
@@sofig22 I don't know why this person is saying this as it is incorrect. The video says Molly was originally going to be a boy called Nobby. The chickens always only had one child.
This was a fantastic perspective into the production of the film! All that hard work and attention to detail really paid off, I really enjoyed the sequel!
Make a third movie now lol
I could just watch hours of filming of this film, it’s just so phenomenal
Bravo to all the Animators at Aardman!
Such a shame this movie doesn’t come out in the cinema… excited to watch it though!
Why not 2 child the movie is super good
I loved it. Wasn't hopeful being brought through Netflix but it felt like my childhood film again 😊
Claymation.🤩
Amazing work!!🤩🤩🤩🤩💯💯
I like the idea they were gonna give them a chicken son but then they decide to give them a daughter instead, they could still have a son maybe he’ll be here in the thirds equal to Molly can have a brother and then Ginger and Rocky could have another child who will be the villain in the third one. Maybe I’ll be wolves or foxes because after the first two movies were the villain are humans I think it be cool if in the third movie, it could be an animal be a villain. . This movie looks cool.
Well the chickens are technically all female so
I don't think we'll get a third. If we do it will probably be a short Christmas special.
@@daffyduck9323 But hey, at least they don't have to worry about overpopulation. :P
How you gonna spoil mrs tweedy comeback on the trailer. But apart from that good one👍
Back in 2020 last year of uni, we were told they finish the storyboard/colour script. I couldn’t believe there was a sequel. Can’t believe it’s out now, just watched it. It’s good film, better than I thought. You got Flynn rider there too 😂😂😂
Ardman is the art of patience.
Hello Netflix, I'm going to share this message on every chicken run video that way there's a higher chance of chicken run 3 happening, Honestly as a die hard chicken run fan i've watched the first one so many times the second one not to many times but yes a lot, and after the 2nd one came out i was really thinking maybe there could be a 3rd one so anyway i think that chicken run 3 should be about the circus from the first movie, and the circus trys to get rocky back, like maybe one day rocky, ginger, Babs, mac, fowler, and bunty are out one day trying to save other chickens but then the circus truck passes by and grabs rocky and then ginger, Babs, mac, fowler, and bunty wonder where rocky went and then maybe Babs is the only that notices rocky being taken by the circus and says "Is rocky going on holiday?" after Babs says that ginger, mac, fowler, and bunty notice that, the circus then drives away, and maybe in that truck there's another rooster that used to be rockys best friend at the circus i think maybe his partners name could be Fenton? anyway that's half of the 3rd movie i hope for. and if any of this does happen no credit required because the only thing i need is another chicken run!
The quality is so good you think it’s not stop motion
Hi Netflix! Ok, we didn't get this film in cinema. Can we please get at least the DVD? Thank you!
Get it on Netflix
How do you make the chickens move
Story looks good but Rocky & Gingers voices are so Bland & nondescript .
It looked like CGI..... may as well have just made it CGI. Classic Aardman stuff looks way better (read: authentic) than this, despite actually looking worse. The plot was, sadly, totally a nothing burger.
Is there a limit to what stop-motion animation can do? For instance, could a story with characters as complex as Tui T. Sutherland's "Wings of Fire" be brought to life in stop-motion?
Shouldn’t have bothered, compared to what they can create with the original and Were-Rabbit, this was trash. Poor story and meagre jokes aimed at children.
Why the heck would you use cg to "enchance" the models. Completely soulless. How could a stop motion artist say that with a straight face, seriously!!
I watched the sequel and I loved it, but it doesn't top off the first one.
this is a true work of art loved this new one
Amazing it's so cool, it's great
they give the kid a poppy plant top as a rattle. that is a little twisted
Best movie ever I'm so happy see stop motion still used for chicken run 2
Weren't they running out of clay?
This kind of animation cannot really be replaced
Damn it Mel why'd you have to be such an absolute pillock?
they give the kid a poppy plant top as a rattle. that is a little twisted
Would love to see an Aardman X Laika collaboration sort of like who framed Roger Rabbit. Not sure how it would work but would be the most ambitious SMA yet
No subtitles? Shame on you, you have more than enough resources.
AMAZING🤩😍👍
EXCELLENT SEQUEL 10 STARS
When is the third chicken run movie coming out? I need to know!
I can’t even think how hard to create these kind of movies 🥺 thanks a lot. We had enjoyed this movie in our childhood and again 😍🥰
Aardman are fantastic, best animation studio ever in my opinion. Love their work so much. ❤
You deserve all the love of everyone who watched the movie and you have to know that we apreciate your hard work and your touch in keeping the magic and the old style that we all grew loving it
I really wanna know how mrs tweety is alive. Wasn’t she crushed by the giant door
Cartoon logic, I presume. She also survived falling from a flying aircraft as well as the subsequent gravy explosion. Still, a fair question ^^
According to what it said mrs tweety survive from being crushed by the barn door.
I watched this movie , absolutely beautiful .Thank u for bringing my childhood movie back😊
Tbh, just good enough...
Too American to be a real sequel (weapons, robots, explosions etc)
And don't get me started on how Mrs tweedy survives crushed by a barn door, then blended and fried...
Just too irrational
Yeah! My old childhood favorite now has a cluckin' good sequel on Netflix, 23 years later. Wow. I am turning 25 in a little over a week from this reply and I'm already feeling quarter of a century old knowing this fact.
The different voice actors spoiled this.
It was ok. I’m not a fan of “heist” style movies. There’s no cleverness to them, it’s just “we have to get in the building”. It seemed like an unnecessary sequel and I wish they would have just tried to make a new story. This story of the chickens was done, and there’s no way it can realistically have a happy ending of chickens breaking out other chickens. Their quest would never end and it would never succeed. They couldn’t even think of a new main villain.
