The screams of terror from everyone just adds to the terror despite the low poly nature of the monsters
Love how when I first played, I got a pro in my lobby tried hard mode for my first game, and get to level 3 and I lasted the longest knowing nothing.
Kaif That Battery at the Top right was a Really Good Idea as a indicator on how much time was left on the video, What a Great Detail!
I swear. Kane Pixels really made people wanna do content related to the Backrooms and it's great. Props to him and his team for the footages they've made about that.
Correction about the backrooms! Exits are specific areas, they are not (usually at least) to do with time. The first level, level 0, typically doesn’t hold many entities, if at all. I really do enjoy the explanation at the start though!
I've started reading the Backrooms wiki, and wow. This is quite the rabbit hole to fall down. I love it. It would make for an amazing survival sim-rougelike-RPG combo.

I love the eldritch qualities of this game and the Backrooms in general. Those monsters were actually kinda horrifying despite being janky.
The water monster got me. I was not prepared for that.
The dissonance beteween the terror and the blank smiles of the characters is really excellent comedy.

Vr chat avatars are better and it does have maps but the potential seems to be less than rec rooms so it's a trade off i guess

For those who dont know, when he said "Hounds", they actually aren't Hounds from the Canon catalogue.
The real ones are more dog-like shaped, and not a mini version of the giant screamy scary guy with things that makes sounds.

as a backrooms nerd i can safely say that is not a hound, since Kane Pixel's backrooms and the New backrooms are 2 different sets of the backrooms, with different entities and levels. In the new backrooms, it is impossible to encounter other lifeforms in level 0 so there would be no monsters

As far as im concerned the extra levels and monsters make it 14 times less scary. The whole fear of the backrooms is the lack of stimulation, the lack of absalutely anything interesting scary or meaningful
It's not too often that I see one of my favorite youtubers play Rec Room but I always love it when they do!
The water level bugs out if you need to get re-invited because the game needs you to turn the water valves if you want to go down the floors, but if the others already did it the water stays there and you can’t turn it. I feel like you should revisit it and maybe not die.

I'll be honest, I don't like the entanglement between the textbook definition of a liminal space and the horror genre. Horror can be set in a liminal space, but a liminal space does not have to be horror. It simply is a place that is in transition from one state to the next, which can take many definitions. For instance, an empty airport terminal at the cusp of dawn is a liminal space that fits the definition to a tee, but which is not a horror setting. There is a sort of serenity and hopeful anticipation to a liminal space that is about to transition into a lively place, while there is something unsettling and nostalgic about a liminal space which is transitioning into abandonment. Even though the backrooms are an interesting concept, I hope that the notion that liminal spaces can be hopeful and serene is not lost in the current hype.
It feels like Kaif becomes more insane the longer the video progresses.
