Norwich University presents Nowruz 1401, a celebration of the Afghan New Year

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University Intercultural Student Organization presents Nowruz 1401, a celebration of the Afghan New Year and fundraiser to support local Afghan families, on March 20, 2022.
Nowruz, celebrated widely in Afghanistan and other central Asian countries, is a 3,000-year-old New Year's festival, which will have its first-ever Norwich commemoration this weekend with community activities and cultural performances. Everything is free and open to the public.
Nowruz means many things. Known as Farmer’s Day, it is a time of new beginnings, the coming of spring and joyful living. Another prominent theme is connectedness, which reflects the university's “Norwich Together” theme.
