I love your ShadowDark playthroughs so much. You get such a good vibe going with your players. It obviously helps that the game encourages speed of play over showboating and the limited actions cycle quickly through the players, but the real standout for me is how patient you are as a GM. You must have explained how to move the torch with your character 100 times over the videos I've watched but you never get tetchy about repeating yourself so it keeps everyone relaxed and enjoying themselves when it would be easy to get frustrated by the technical issues and cause the players to start being defensive. It makes for a joyful watch and sounds like it's just as much fun to play. Are you naturally relaxed like this or is it something you have learned through experience? Such a great example for GMs.
Thank you so much! I am naturally relaxed as a person and lots of experience at the table helps reinforce that. And, great players always make me look good :-)
Great! So fun! Can't wait to find out what more Shadowdark adventures you've got on your channel, you guys are playing this in a very entertaining way to watch and that seems like a soooo cool adventure too! So imaginative, fun and athmospheric! And with cool ideas in it! (I already started watching two of your shadowdark adventures at the same time, I mean bit by bit in turns:D)
Fantastic adventure! Can't wait for Part 2! Love the art as well, Tom- Did you make it, commission it, AI it? They really added to the adventure. Love everything you do, @d20play!
The art is from the Special Edition Sersa is working on which is planned to have a new cover, a bunch of new art, and a behind-the-scenes design diary. I'll see if I can get the artists' names and a planned release date.
This is awesome! I try to watch all d20play videos.
Glad you like them!
Hello, very happy to see this! I am the artist :)
The art in this is incredible. I hope to see much more of your work!
Always enjoy watching your play through. Thanks.
No deaths in a Sersa adventure. I guess there is still round 2.
Thank you! Yes, the no deaths is my fault, not Sersa's :-) I forgot one very deadly thing. Always round 2!
@@d20play Oh no lol. Well tbf we ran away from most of the deadly stuff. What deadly thing did you forget in part 1?!
Not to spoil anything but it was in the poison catacombs

That is great to hear. I loved this adventure!
Very reminiscent of the old hidden shrine adventure.
It is a great homage! I loved running this one!

How do you pick who you play games with ? Discord ? Followers ?
From past players and from spots announced on my Discord and on X. Occasionally, I also announce spots on TH-cam and Mastadon.
