Are you interested in videos featuring "old" builds? I have some older footage of this deck with entertaining games and I'm curious if you'd be interested.
Against aggro maybe you should consider the land Desert "Tap: Desert deals one damage to target atacking creature. Activate only at the end of combat."
Thanks for suggesting that! I sometimes lose track of added cards, especially when they're locked behind mythic rarity. Desert is super interesting. Really strong against Ocelot Pride, medium against Ragavan, but bad against Guide of Souls. You've got me thinking! lol
@@oscarwilson-brown6054 Looks sweet! I have yet to try Minsc and Boo, but I really want to. Might try M&B in like a Temur superfriends build alongside Oko. Interesting stuff going on in your list! I've also though going deeper into a prison strategy by using Labyrinth to power out Blood Moon in addition to Chalice. How do you like it? I'm a little concerned about how Blood Moon weakens Labyrinth once in play and locks up the exiled card for good, has that been an issue? And do the prison pieces buy you enough time to cast Ugin and Emrakul without ramp to accelerate?
@@priorityholder yah there are problems with the deck, I've changed it slightly added a waste and 2 kozilek's command, for ramp (removed delve card). With bloodmoon we potentially lose 6 cards (kozileks command and emrakul). But should be much better against the opponent. Fable of the mirror breaker can ramp you really well in some games. besides that theres only rumble, labyrinth and k command. Most of the cmc is 4 or below, those above really are to use labyrinth (I don't think we're going to be able to cast emrakul every game having left blue, I needed another colourless over 7 and am so bored of devourer of destiny in all my decks XD, added the Spirit dragon after seeing you play it. Ugin could come down like t5 (not gunna happen all the time and I don't think it needs to). Oko sounds fun, then you get nuldrifter if you want it and ugin's binding. I think because we have no 'proper' ramp pieces the deck is more alive card to card, but our cards do still give us a mana advantage. Have to try it yourself XD Imo minsc is so worth crafting. It's played in legacy so hopefully it will have it's time in timeless. Honestly labyrinth blood moon, you lose some ramp but what do they lose? Probably all their lands. T2! if its no good have to sb it out game 2. Cool videos, old builds and fun games are cool, would also be amazing to see the oko.
I would enjoy some gameplay of older versions. Personally I mostly play BO3. As far as changes to this deck go, I like to put slightly more ramp in my colorless decks (Irencrag, Powerstone), and as wishboard options go I put God-pharao's statue in any Karn deck.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I could see more ramp being necessary, and I forgot about Worn Powerstone being an option. I'll have to think about that. The colorless haymakers are strong, but soooo costly. Upping the ramp might be a better path than trying to splash interaction. I also enjoy God-Pharoah's Statue, so satisfying to stick that one lol. Maybe I need to find a way to get that back into the wishboard.
I am not too sure if more ramp really helps that much in Timeless. The bad match-ups of this deck are aggro decks, insane combo starts. Mana rocks help you, getting to your big stuff faster, but are really bad top decks. Mind Stone, at least let's you draw a card, and Idol can block or attack. Spending your first two turns playing Mana rocks to play a Karn turn 3 and a ring, etc. turn 4 does not deal with the giant Energy board or the strong combo decks that win by turn 4 or 5 the latest. In another format, that might be a different discussion. In Timeless Dismember might help to to kill early creatures, but it costs Mythic WCs... so I didn't try them yet. I think this deck needs a better colorless Mana base. Ancient Tomb, maybe the post cycle, tron might be too slow.
@@ArsArmatoria Yeah I think you're right. Maybe if we had more efficient ramp to add, but the other options are probably too clunky and bad top decks as you mentioned. Part of me wonders if I should be mulliganing more aggressively for Chalice if the opponent has a Lurrus or Jegantha Companion. An early Chalice for 1 does wonders for surviving Energy and Frog. Serum Powder would actually be very interesting, especially in conjunction with Devourer of Destiny. Together they would really allow you to sculpt strong opening hands. Might be too gimmicky though. Yeah I'd love Ancient Tomb or Cloudpost et al. I'd even take Eldrazi Temple (though that would be for a different deck).
@@ArsArmatoria I should have said I mostly play historic, which is slower and has a more diverse meta compared to historic. I do run a couple of dismembers and they are absolutely worth the WCs.
@@donttoywithfloris I just recently returned to Arena and have no idea how the Historic meta is right now. Can you tell me what decks are played the most? In what decks do you play Dismember? And how many? If I can adapt this deck to play Historic, I might try that format again.
It's cool seeing you play this deck again :) Maybe I should play Toxic Deluge in the mainboard as well. I thought about Dismember, but I don't want to pay mythic wildcards if I am not sure if it's even worth it...
Glad you like it! Yeah I'm considering going up to more copies. Though some people instead play even more ramp to power out the threats sooner. I forgot about Dismember! That's a great suggestion. Though I don't think I can spend Mythic Wildcards on it out of principle lol. I can wait for a proper printing.
I'm intrigued by Ghost Vacuum, especially since it can function as a wincon if you snag enough stuff with it (Phlage is a great hit). It does get whammied by Chalice on 1 though, and I try to avoid that if I can. I do wonder if a big mana strategy taking advantage of Vacuum could work.
