Awesome demo! I really slept on this over the years, but this might be the coolest Jazz Bass out there! Thanks for really demoing the tone controls, I just recently learned to appreciate two separate ones. And this seems to have different capacitors, so you can get a darker, more P-Bass-like sound on the neck, while you can accentuate the mids nicely on the bridge pickup. And the finish just looks rad!
man...that bass really sounds active...not exactly the most lively sounding pickups< but they sound juiced up somehow....not sure how i feel about it yet...
Mister Meeseeks Well, it was played directly into a Fender Bassman 500 and mic'd with a Shure Beta 52. That might be contributing to some of the juice you're hearing.
Bassic Gear Review nah I don't think so...I've seen another review and I thought the same thing..like the bass sounds active somehow...I love the price point, but it doesn't have a real vintage vibe and that's what I'm looking for..it's cool that it doesn't sound exactly like a vintage cubed Jazz...fender's already got that covered with the Reissued and the Clayton signature..no need to do the exact same thing for Flea, I suppose...but the others cost about twice as much or more than the Flea and that's what gets me...
+Chris Davis Yeah, this bass works well with the road-worn finish. We don't actually sell anything. Our local music store was kind enough to let us use their facility and inventory so we try to direct as many people there as possible to show our gratitude to them. We can try to get a G&L.
yeah but the badass is THE bridge.. everyone uses this bridge, and I understand that Fender can't (or doesn't want to?) put aftermarket products on their line, but at least they could use their own high mass bridge that you can see on other badass loaded signature models
im going to be honest with you, i think the high mass bridge thing is kind of overrated, to say, i think people think its far more necicary than it is.
Think Joe Osborn: th-cam.com/video/VlrQ-bOzpkQ/w-d-xo.html He was given one of the very first Fender jazz basses by Fender before going on tour with Ricky Nelson in late 1960. In an interview, he stated that he didn’t change the strings for seventeen years.... It was his main player until his passing. He was a remarkable bass player and was a member of the Wrecking Crew. He played bass on countless hits. RIP Joe.
i'd been thinking about buying a bass over and over. Should I get this flea jazz bass or an american standard jazz bass. help me to choose which is better and cooler. :D
+Cord Scott They aren't noiseless. When both pickups are all the way on, the noise gets cancelled out, like pretty much any other Jazz bass, but you will experience some hum when only running one pickup.
Cord Scott It could be a number of things but most likely due to the fact that we didn't run the amp very loud (we were in a store) so it probably didn't shine through as much.
Finally. A great, relevant, and simple review on TH-cam. Not a 40 minute circle jerk with the instrument being played for 3. You know who you are....
That is one amazing sounding Jazz bass.
that bass/amp combination sounds great! the fender/ampeg connection rules
Doug Morton Thoroughly agreed!
I dig the concentric knobs.
Thank you for the channel. Helps me a lot when it comes down to choosing my effects. Please don't stop with the pedal reviews.
+Carlos Gandarillas Thanks, man! We don't ever plan on stopping with the pedal reviews...just adding more.

Love this bass. Gonna buy myself a 60s White jazz to get that amazing look
Ive got the hoppus shell pink im in love with the thing tbh fender do great work with signatures as youd expect
Why would anyone buy the hoppus one? It has a pbass neck. So uncomfortable

Aren't you playing through that sweet Ampeg?
The wiring for the dual concentric knobs is more trebly than the three knob Jazz bass.
These are great basses once you get the setup right. The pickups are terrific.
1:12 - it's that good michael?
Hey from Dublin, Ireland. Great video review, thanks a lot
+Roadworn Frets Thank you very much!
yo yo waddup from Galway
Greetings from Sligo!
Love it.
Great Video and great playing, I really enjoyed it!
Thank you very much!
I'm not usually a fan of the road worn stuff but it works on this one for me! Great sounding bass. Do y'all sell G&L? Love me some G&L!

+Bassic Gear Review Thanks for the reply & the good demo/review videos!
No BadassII or high mass bridge :(
We feel your pain! Since it's a replica, they kept it pretty stock, however a quick aftermarket switch wouldn't hurt! 👍

Badass bridges aren't made anymore.
Sir Bassington True, but All Parts has a pretty spot-on clone called the Omega Bridge.
im going to be honest with you, i think the high mass bridge thing is kind of overrated, to say, i think people think its far more necicary than it is.
I just got one!! Amazing!!
Love the pink but I wish it wasn't already road worn 😞
No 60 cycle hum?
sounds really cool
Is there any 60 cycle hum on this model??
Chase Jasiorkowski yup. It’s amazing how you can’t hear it on the demos.

Even slaps like flea
Sounds badass!
any tabs?
i'd been thinking about buying a bass over and over. Should I get this flea jazz bass or an american standard jazz bass. help me to choose which is better and cooler. :D
+Syamim Zamree This might help: th-cam.com/video/6Mo1tY-abAg/w-d-xo.html
Bassic Gear Review thaanks. it really help a lot.
What color is this bass?
Shell Pink
man i would so get this if it weren't for the "roadworn" look
alexander cabrera what's wrong with the roadworn look?
alexander cabrera it's a replica of fleas so it's supposed to be like that. otherwise it wouldn't look like fleas.
nothing wrong with it at all, just not my preference
Agreed
the strings?
Remy Lanca I'm pretty sure they're Fender strings. We didn't change them. It's 100% stock.
regane larang
Billy Surya Endson pancen
As much as I wish you used a pic. This was a really good demo! :)
Are these pickups noise-cancelling?
+Cord Scott They aren't noiseless. When both pickups are all the way on, the noise gets cancelled out, like pretty much any other Jazz bass, but you will experience some hum when only running one pickup.
That's what I though but I saw him have the volumes at different levels and heard no hum so I thought something might be different.
Cord Scott It could be a number of things but most likely due to the fact that we didn't run the amp very loud (we were in a store) so it probably didn't shine through as much.
Bassic Gear Review I see. Well sounds great though. Really liked the review.
Cord Scott Thank you very much!
I'd definitely pick this bass up if it wasn't for the worn look. I'm not a fan of artificial wear and tear.
any way to blend the pickups?
They make a 5 string?
Cort C5 Plus next!!!!!!!
1 finger boi
Dig!
playing with one finger ahahah woooo
Worked for Jamerson.
Roll that tone back bruh!
Looks like really cheap relic
When this guy wanna be flea so badly in the video but fails😂😂
Love the pink but I wish it wasn't already road worn 😞
