Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia has this exact same ride but called the Avalanche. It is my absolute favorite ride. The only difference is that this one each train is one country, with ours (avalanche) each individual car is a different country. Love it! No track just gravity!
When I was a kid in the sixties, there was the "Bobsled" ride in Coney Island. It was originally featured at the 1939 World's Fair. Almost exactly like this one here.
Oh my goodness, I know that ride at Coney Island and rode it 100 times +++. In fact that very ride was the very reason I went moved Lake Placid, NY to become a Bobsleder. I may have not made it to the Olympics but I did help get the Women recognized that alloyed them to start competing in the Olympics. Not bad for a city chick. Thanks for the memory.
Good thing that avalanche will reopen next season alongside the new 4D free spin coaster but I don't have high hopes for the future of the former volcano site especially after viewing the animation for the free spin coaster as it shows nothing but trees where volcano once was.
