Very sad that a once great country who would help anyone and everyone is now being destroyed. No wonder there is so much depression about. If people coming here were happy to fit in and take everything that is given to them with a good heart, unfortunately they just want more and more, they are demanding, some are criminals, and our government side with them.

When it comes to migration, this is experienced in every single western country. The main problem with UK is soft law which does not punish real criminals. Instead, you'll get heavy time for a nasty FB comment. Police likes to go for easy targets, and online crime leaves plenty of evidence.

Also my whole life has been work (self employed and employed) while denying myself 'fun' (I cant afford to 'go out'), im almost 30, no closer to ever affording a house, havent been on holiday in my adult life, fell for the University 'scam' as well... The wage growth they have had in the US has disproportionately gone to younger workers (aged less than 40) whereas in the UK, the weak income growth we have had has disproportionately gone to those who are over 40.

I'd rather be diving some WW2 wrecks in Coron Bay, than "fighting the good fight" in what's left of Britain. 2) I've not seen a credible plan for Britain by anyone, for a simple reason - there isn't one. It's now impossible to put back the clock by decades, and then increase the required investment you'd have to have. The mistakes made are deep and endless, and far too long and onerous to put into a YT comment, let alone actually fix. I've been living (mostly) out of Britain for the last 21 years, and I can tell you, nowhere is a utopia, but the grass sometimes is greener on the other side...

Life here is so much more layed back with lots of holidays 4 weeks annual leave and a lot of other holidays including a holiday for a horse race (The Melbourne Cup), the Queens birthday (Now Kings), in Melbourne a holiday for the football Grand Final, Labour day, ANZAC day, Australia day, plus the usual Easter and Christmas holidays. Also after working for the same company for 10 years we get long service leave, my wife and I had 15 weeks on full pay plus 17% loading for our long service leave which we used to travel around the world. I have to tell you that even this country has changed over the years just as the world has changed and in our view not for the better but we still believe that this is the best country in the world to live in. I do follow what is happening in the UK and am disgusted with what I am seeing there...Where ever you move to I wish you every happiness and good luck and hope you find the best place that suits you and the people are friendly to you as we have found them to be here in Australia.

Ok, wow, brace yourself for this response, pour yourself a cup of coffee.
That was possibly the best video I’ve seen in quite some time, I agree 100% with the points made. Who do we look up to in this country? It can’t be the royal family, look at Prince Andrew, it can’t be the Labour Party or the Tories, they’ve royally screwed us over. Do we look up to religion ( well the behaviour of some priests may well prevent you doing that, although for the record I am Christian) so that in itself is a huge problem. We can’t rally around anything , the Chinese , the gulf states can.
The main problems we have are as follows
    1. Privatisation and the selling off of the nations assets. How the hell did a country like the uk 🇬🇧, which used to own a large chunk of the world, end up in a situation where we don’t own Heathrow airport or harrods or most of our utility companies. Someone made a fortune selling this off and it wasn’t you or I. Nothing functions anymore, police numbers have been cut, the postal service is diabolical, I haven’t been able to see my GP for 2 years, the waiting list for social housing is unbelievably long.
    2. Immigration, my parents are immigrants and there are immigrants working in every sector in the Uk, from the nhs to the police etc, however, immigration has mostly been negative for this country and has brought with it crimes that didn’t exist 50 years ago, like acid attacks, female genital mutilation, Islamic extremist attacks inter racial tension to name but a few. Immigration has also put huge pressure on our infrastructure, more demand for public services, more traffic jams, more need for new housing etc. like you’ve mentioned and I agree. We don’t deport people who break the law. Other countries ( like the gulf states do).
    3. Politics: Peter Hitchens once said, the problem with the Uk 🇬🇧 is that it has a right wing party without any right wing policies and a left wing party without any left wing policies . The Tories promised to be tough on crime and tough on immigration but after 14 years of Tory rule, immigration went up ( both legal and illegal) and crime is going through the roof. Labour is supposed to be on the side of the working class but believes in mass immigration , which suppresses wages. Labour has not reversed privatisation either.
    4. The UK’s role in the world : we went from having an empire to being the minority in our own cities and owning very little of our own country, successive governments have done this to us. We are facing a rising China 🇨🇳 ( which makes everything we consume, so bang 💥 goes the manufacturing jobs, India 🇮🇳 is also on the rise and is predicted to be the 3rd largest economy by 2030 and yet we’re giving India foreign aid( sheer loonacy). USA doesn’t give a fig about us, this so called special relationship is a load or crap. What benefits do we get that France doesn’t get. Brexit was a mistake but so was the eu’s insane freedom of movement policy, my suggestion would be to rejoin the eu but one that is dominated by the far right.
    4. The education system is a shambles and does not prepare you for the work place , in order to get a decent education, you need to pay 30k for private schools or attend a grammar school but that means getting sky high grades.
Solutions: we need to boot out any foreigner that breaks the law. We need to stop giving people citizenship, if they want to work here, fine but they must return to their country when they retire, we are not the international pension and retirement fund. We must get religion out of schools, want to be religious? Do it in your own time. We must regulate all mosques ( every gulf country does this so that the preacher does not preach hatred against the country) we must dramatically reduce the benefit system, this is the reason that most Africans and Muslims come to this country, they have 4 or 5 kids and we’re obliged to house them when they have contributed NOTHING to the economy because they are unemployed. This need to stop immediately, your kids, your problem, your responsibility. No more free lunches, tell the world to stay in their own countries and improve their own countries
Yes, reform is the best pick of a bad bunch when it comes to political parties, we need to row back decades of corrosive left wing policies.
We need to bring back national service and those who commit murder should be jailed for life, meaning life, none of this 12 years nonsense . We need to wean ourselves off vices: gambling, alcohol, tobacco, drugs etc
Why are most people in this country addicted to one drug or another? We need self discipline and education to help us do this. I’ve actually already done it. We need to take big pharma and the food industry to task as they are both slowly killing us, doctors prescribe pills that we get addicted to and the food industries are putting sugar and salt everywhere. Sugar in our bread and ready made meals.
In short we need a complete revolution in this country a total change in our mentality that will enable us to be happier and compete globally, it’s a difficult task but not an impossible one.
    Good luck.

    1. There was never any such thing one unifying British culture; the Irish left the UK for a reason and class has always been a huge factor in British's people differing values, accents, beliefs etc.
    2. High levels of migrations is happening in all of the world's wealthiest countries (even in Japan and Korean now)
    3. Britain is one of the most entrepreneurial countries in the world; we have the most start ups in Europe and plenty of self made millionaires. Maybe the issue you are facing has to do with the area you are in or your social circles.

It depends on your background and who you know, but it is safe to say the country is in a bad state.
The transport is appalling, you have to pay through the nose for it, and the services in general are rubbish.
NHS is useless, food is overpriced, and trying to enjoy a day out is an ordeal if the trains are cancelled, or there’s ongoing engineering works. Housing is expensive, I could go on! lol

@@MrMarcy76 I fully agree with you on most of the issues you mentioned but honestly they are almost universal now in the developed world. Health systems are breaking down all across the rich world due to aging populations. Inflation/food prices is a huge issue in the US presidential election right now. And our high housing prices are nothing compared to the situation in Ireland, Australia or Canada.
The western world has been sleepwalking into becoming a dystopia where only the rich can prosper for decades now but the UK isn’t alone in having these problems. I do think the British have a tendency to see themselves as worse off than anyone else but there are plenty of videos on TH-cam with non brits complaining that their country is ruined or unlivable.

@@minimal3734 Every society has class distinctions. Some just hide better than others. Or deny it better. In the US everyone calls themselves middle class even if they have never owned anything or if they are millionaires.

@@shiningvideo With the abolition and expropriation of the aristocracy, the concept of ‘class’ also disappeared in European societies. The UK is an exception, as the aristocracy was never abolished here. Think, for example, of the "House of Lords", or the distribution of land ownership in the UK. It has practically remained a feudal society.

you're young and naive. Maybe it is a good thing you poured your heart out here so the older folks can give you advice.
It is one thing to find 1001 things wrong with Britain. Question is - compared to what? Do you have extensive experience of living abroad so you can compare?
You complain about a lack of culture in Britain - do you think you will come to a different country with a different culture and embrace it overnight, as an adult? Nope.
Going anywhere in the western world, you won't find genuine culture in urban areas due to massive immigration. Going to rural areas you will find culture, but will struggle to find work..
If you like warmth of Spain,. Italy, Portugal - Spain and Italy have insane youth unemployment. Portugal went mental with -shall we say - injections. France, Germany are destroyed by immigration. Eastern Europe is conservative, expect drop in standard of living, languages are difficult to learn and you will made to feel like an outsider for years - I know, I am Eastern European myself. List could go on, eventually you find out that there is no place like home and family matters most. Good luck

    Cockney Slang
    Tea Drinking
    Our Flag
    Royal Family
Royal Heritage Sites (visit a few)
    Afternoon Tea (try Kilworth House)
    Fish and Chips
    Flat caps
Think English culture is still there, but I am seeing the high streets change, many of these staples are becoming less a feature, Heck go to London and try and find a Cockney selling anything...
Most gift shops and souvenir shops have Indian sounding music banging out...
Things have changed and changed fast.
Office politics I think happen every place in the world... take a look at the Philippines, it's like the UK culture wise but 20 years ago... people there speak English... all signs are in English...
    Best of luck to you.

The common understanding in the US has always been "follow your dreams". How do you think that so many items that are used daily have gotten developed? I'd just heard about a TH-camr who decided to start a channel showcasing new toys for children. She purchases and reviews them - nothing expensive - each a few bucks. Evidently, it's worked out well for this girl - very well. She is now making gobs upon gobs of money in revenue from her channel.
