    "The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I slept with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and sleep with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.” So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
    So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father." Genesis 19:30-38

    The resurrection is like an atomic bomb going off that produces not new elements from old, but new men from old men, and new hope from dead hopelessness.

  • @lovejoypeaceforever
    @lovejoypeaceforever 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The penal substitution of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary for the sins of his elect, His resurrection and assumption are foundational to the doctrine of justification in Christianity. Christians believe that on the cross, Jesus voluntarily bore our sins. Jesus allowed people to lie about him and kill him. He used the evil done to him to bring good to others. He sacrificed himself and demonstrated the greatest love of all. On the cross is where we are redeemed, and it is where a Christian’s sin debt to God is cancelled.

      @@peanutbutterknitting so how is a god any better when it institutes torture and pain in its own design? Does it make any sense that for us to redeem ourselves from the "sin" of bad conduct that this god implements bad conduct for the redemption? This god is no better

    • @lawrenceeason8007
      @lawrenceeason8007 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@peanutbutterknitting Yes I give the example of Abraham and Isaac as an example of incredible cruelty. Terrible thing that was.
      But if your defense of this god you believe in is to point out bad people who do the same thing, that doesn't do much for this god.
      It is especially bad that this god, through a simple decision of a different plan, could have spared the suffering of countless thousands of animals when it wasn't necessary. If it was necessary, then your god isn't all powerful or knowing. Certainly not benevolent.
      It all boils down to if the bible demonstrates a good, moral god. Clearly it doesn't:
      Deuteronomy 21:18-22 (kill an unruly child)
      Deuteronomy 22:20-21 (stone a woman on marriage day if not a virgin)
      Leviticus 20:13 (kill homosexuals)
      Exodus 21:17 (murder your children if they curse at you)
      1 Samuel 15:2-3 (god commands the Amelikites to be slaughtered and specifically mentions the children AND babies to be killed as well as the innocent animals)
      Leviticus 20:10 (murder a person who has had sex outside of their marriage and murder the other person too)
      Exodus 31:15 (murder someone working on Sabbath)
      Deuteronomy 20:16-18
      1 Samuel 15:3
      (genocide)
      Numbers 31:18 (pedophilia)
      2 Kings 8:12 (rip babies from pregnant women = pro abortion)
      Tortured job and killed his family to test his faith
      Deuteronomy 25:11-12 (if a woman touches a man's genitals in an argument cut off her hand)
      1 Peter 2:18-20 (slaves obey your masters even if they beat you)
      Deuteronomy 23:1 (if a man's genitalia is wounded or cut off he cannot enter into the congregation of the Lord)
      Isaiah 45:6-7 (god creates evil)
      2 Kings 2:23-24 (god sent bears to kill 42 children...their crime? They made fun of Elisha's bald head)
      1 Timothy 2:11-15 (women are to be silent and subject to men)
      Leviticus 21:17-24 (lame, those with flat noses, dwarves, people with scurvy, people with bad eyes, people with bad skin, and those that "hath their stones broken." Are not welcome with god
      Genital mutilation. In fact the only thing that stopped god from killing Moses was Moses' wife sliced off her son's foreskin. Exodus 4:24-26
      Judges 11:29-40
      Child sacrifice of Jephthah's daughter
      Exodus 11:5 all Egyptian first born children and animals killed
      Judges 14:19 god helped Samson murder and steal from 30 random men for a bet Samson lost
      Genesis 32:22-31 god wrestles jacob all night cannot beat him and god puts his hip out of socket
      Job 1 Satan tricks god into getting power over job, a good man, and Satan kills all of Job's children and animals, burns down his house, destroys his wealth, and then covers him in boils

    An extremely probable explanation for the empty tomb is that the Romans took the body. They alone had the ABILITY and powerful MOTIVATIONS to do the deed.
    Motivation #1 - THE ROMANS WANTED THE PRO-ROMAN MESSAGES OF JESUS TO CONTINUE. In contrast to all the other rabbis, Jesus taught the wish list of the Romans: Stop hating them, start sacrificially loving them, and pay all their unjust, burdensome taxes. Stealing the body caused the depressed disciples to believe the lie that Jesus rose, which invigorated them to excitedly spread Jesus' pro-Roman messages.
    Motivation #2 - THE ROMANS WANTED TO GET REVENGE ON THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS. During the trial of Jesus, the religious leaders humiliated Pilate by inciting a riot, forcing Pilate to crucify Jesus, whom he believed to be an innocent man. You can bet that revenge was big time on Pilate's mind. Stealing Jesus’ body was a great way for the Romans to stick it to the religious leaders, who would now have to deal with a "resurrected" false messiah.
    Remember, a reasonable naturalistic explanation negates a supernatural one.

    Does this count if you have blasphemed against the Holy Spirit? Can you still repent and be a believer and have forgiveness?

    • @jonisland2350
      @jonisland2350 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes and no. If you are even able to ask and want to repent from “blasphemy” you more than likely haven’t actually blasphemed anything. Blaspheming the spirit is when you ignore the Holy Spirits conviction over and over until your heart is so hardened that you can’t go back to God, not because He left but because you did. But if you feel that conviction, it’s not too late. Go to God.

    • @Sinharvest
      @Sinharvest 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Incorrect. Know the Word before you discourage someone.
      Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is not believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. IE an atheist.
      Not believing in Christ as the Risen savior is the ONLY unforgivable sin.

    If this is all gods design, and if that design gave mankind all the tools for bad behavior, then blame the manufacturer. It is bad enough that a god would create people knowing that because his design would result in unspeakable pain and suffering...even for children and infants...and then to tack on eternal suffering as punishment for your design is just cruel. It doesn't make any sense, as so much of the bible doesn't.

    What's bad about the bible:
    1. The unspeakable immorality.
    2. Putting the threat and fright of a hell in people's minds, especially kids.
    3. The justification throughout history of committing unspeakable cruelty because a god said so....because the religion condones it.
    4. The condemnation of people who just want to live their lives, like gay people.
    5. The drumming into people's minds that they are wicked and unworthy...just like a bully.
    6. Thought crime in the NT...which no doubt has the capability of screwing with people's minds and creating incredible guilt.
    7. The condemnation of hell for petty things and for things that come naturally...such as sexual attraction toward someone
    Religion poisons the mind.
