There is a quiet dignity that remains with the homes of hard working families. I like to imagine the last moments of the day as the sun goes down, dinner aromas from the kitchen and seeking a place to sit, catch a breeze, and rest after a hard, hot day.
You are spot on. It would be so interesting to know the history of the owners. I bought a 1926 homestead at a local called Girvan near Stroud NSW and renovated it over 20 years. The grandchildren came and visited from
Oops bumped it. Cont. visited from Stroud and Sydney. Spent the day with me a couple of times. It was wonderful memories for them and I loved learning the history.
Awww thank you so much for helping the lizard, that was so lovely of you to stop and even check on him on the way back too. People like you (and me cos I’d do the same) are really appreciated by our animal friends 🙂
🌟Hi Paul, beautiful outback South Australia and a beautiful gem if those walls could talk the stories they would tell aww bless you for saving the lizard and giving him some water I’m sure he was very grateful for your help and kindness thank you so much again ❤😊🌟x
Hi Paul. I’m sure all the animals you rescue during your explores are very grateful!. I watch every week and I love these old homes. It’s surprising how deteriorated they get over the years. The 90s weren’t really that long ago, if it was abandoned then, so it’s interesting to see how deteriorated some homes are compared to others in that time. Thanks for the videos 😀
Tailem Bend here. Thank you for doing the rescue mission for the lizard- good job ! you can just pick them up, they are very non-aggressive and such lovely animals.
I LIKE HOW YOU GO IN EACH ROOM AND INVESTIGATE THE WONDERFUL HISTORY OF THIS OLD FARM HOUSE IT'S ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING. ( I BET THIS HAS HOUSE HAS SOME GREAT STORIES TO TELL )
I haven't seen a toilet-roll radio for a while... 17:57 :) Good on you for rescuing that stumpy. They're not good climbers, so I doubt that he would have got out without your help.
Well done, Paul, rescuing the Sleepy Lizard. Karma is never far away... He is tail looked like it had a good store of fat in it & they are basically desert dwellers, but good on you for your rescue.👍
I love how you always show concern for the animals you encounter. You're a good lad Paul. Another very interesting explore. That home would've been a lovely old place back in the day I'm sure.
This is one awesomely old gem Paul , the old Carmichael oven was a beauty and the highlight this was one of my favourites as well. The natural decay of the place makes it worth a good video. I’m glad you rescued the stumpie he would of looked back at you and did the lizard smile cheers mate 😊
We have red clay dirt in parts of America as well. Many of our farm belts are referred to as Rust belts because of it. Great document of once nice home. Thanks Paul.
Look forward to your videos every Saturday, always interesting! It’s good to see the compassion you show the different animals you come across when making the videos. Cheers to you👍🏻😊
First timer watching. Exciting and lovely to see old homes like I lived in as a child. The landscape and bush, reminds me of a town called Tarcowie, where my dad had workshop etc. It would have been nice to know the location you were.
Tarcowie!! I've not been there since the 70s.... Mum & Nanna were both born in Terowie, we had rellys run the Grocers in Jamestown...so just hearing that name bought back memories. Took mum (who's 90) back to see the area a cpl of yrs ago.. it's sad to see what were once proud towns just let go. Oh..it was about 44° in the shade, not even the ants were out!!
@@baabaabaa2293 hi local resident. Your mum would most probably remember my dad and mum and many children. Dad (Leopold) established a mechanical workshop and maintained a property out of town doing fencing etc. It was a very hard life for them. They returned from service in Japan after cleaning up the bombs, and just abandoned by the military, nowhere to go and many little children. We moved to Wirrabara because it was too hard for us children to go to school there, and dad worked for Murdock motors until his death.
@@lornawatkins8495 Ill ask mum, she's still sharp as a tack! My Grandad & Uncle Frank Stewart were both returned fellas & yes none were happy about their treatment in the Army, both wound up in Railways. Bob was in Transhipping at Terowie..played footy for Rovers.. they had 3 teams at one stage! The other side of the family are from Pirie & Quorn...few near you at Spalding. Big country, but small world! Thanks for the reply, Ill try to get back to you soon...lve no doubt mum will have some names for you!
Thank you Paul for saving the cute Lizard!! You are a good person and a HERO,you have already saved some animals. I'm sure this old house was back in the days a beautiful home.Greetings from Germany🙂
Great old farm house. Left to rack N ruin. Great to see that lizard you helped out of that pit, should be happy now to roam freely. Thanks for sharing. Cheers MM :)
Urbex Indigo thank my friend for sharing with another wondeful enjoyable video about Original farm house in outback South Australia. I'm a Croweater & yep you're right, til you've had flies drinking out the corners of ya eyes, up ya nose etc ya haven't lived! You can be 90 mile from anywhere, in 5 mins you've got 10 000 mates!! NT have a gd selection too btw!
...far north Queensland. ..outside the "walkabout creek" hotel where they filmed some of crocodile Dundee movie,it's like walking into a large version of those clear insect containers they use for dares on those silly survivor shows.could barely see your hand .couldn't wait to get away from there...
Hi Paul, wouldn't it be great if someone was in the position to restore this treasure, it's a very well built house, not sure who would or could live in that desolate looking place, it would've been a hard life save for the lovely home. Thanks for saving the little guy, you are right about him being stuck there and that damn tic feeding of him, I saw what it was straight off, that's why the poor lizard was lethargic. Your presence, care and interest in what you do transfers onto your videos, makes me feel like I'm there. Thanks again, keep safe.
Thanks so much Adelina :-) It would be amazing to see an old secluded gem like this restored!!! :-) Glad you feel like your are there in the explores, thats what I try to make it like. Thanks for watching :-)
Great find and explore. Poor little guy looked so grateful to you. I will never be able to get to Australia, so thank you Paul for what you do. I actually learn a lot from you. Take care. ❤ from Arizona.
You are so brave to touch that lizard, major Steve Irwin vibes. Well done on ya mate! Thanks for yr adventuring into to this gem of a old home and also for yr compassion towards the lizard.
Oh wow Steve 🦎, oops I mean Paul. When you first mentioned he was in the dugout, I thought you can't leave him there. Thank you💓. I love this old lady; the bullnose verandahs, the leadlight trasoms, high ceilings, what an old charmer. She must have been a stunner bunner in her day, would have been a busy home, thank goodness for a vivid imagination😂. I picture myself renovating these old homesteads, beginning with foundations, roof, electricity, plumbing, a continuous verandah right round the building to create a cool space. Just love her Paul, oh the ol Carmichael in the kitchen, mmmmmmm❤💓
Just pick a sleepy lizard up with a quick firm grab around the body behind the front legs. Don’t be alarmed if the mouth opens in a threatening way. It’s ok. I’ve rescued many lizards off quiet roads and saved them from being run over by uncaring drivers.
that was nice of you helping the blue tongue. I personally would have tried to take that tick off it, but at least he had water and slowly could walk away. great explore with the house
As always, love your work Paul!! Really look forward to Sunday mornings hehe!! I do really enjoy the rural homes!! You get to really experience the history… thanks again 😊

Thank you Paul for capturing South Australian inner countryside, with a native stumpy tail lizard that you kindly rescued out of a pit, that has been living close within an abandoned old symmetrical stone farm house. The Victorian era symmetrical cottage with the red brick quoining were a typical home during the late 1800s and would have been a beautiful family home back in the day. Interesting discovery regarding the stump tail Lizard and have learnt something new.

interesting that there apears to be an ocupied home so close by am abandoned one
What a cool old house. Canadian farmhouses of that era had larger kitchens because that's where people gathered. Did that happen in Australia too?
