    Stupid moronic behaviour like that creates a lot of stress on train crews. I railroaded for over 37 years and during my career hit 14 cars and 2 trespassing pedestrians. I couldn't count the near misses. Every one of those gives you a sick feeling & reminds you of an earlier accident in which someone died.

    This the ghost of a man and his dogs. Every year on this day he appears long enough to cross ahead of a train, only barely making it past the speeding train. He disappears when the train passes. It is said that on a windy, dark night you can hear the howling of the dogs. His lonely widow was seen sitting by the tracks as she mourned the death of the dogs. She always blamed him for the incident. She didn't grieve for him. This all happened many years ago before there were warnings or lights at crossings. She decided to mark the place where he died with a marker but instead of the usual cross she just erected an "X" to mark the spot. She only put his name on it. First name was Buck and his last name was Cross. In the obituary they listed him in the normal last name, first name format. Cross, Buck . To this day the X marker at every railway crossing is called a crossbuck.

    People who take unnecessary risks while crossing of any kind of tracks would be the #1 reason.
    The three young girls who were killed while taking a selfie of themselves standing between two sets of tracks while one train was going by them, never seeing from the opposite direction another train on the opposite track,until it was too late.
    Both crewmen needed months of phycological care
    before they could return to their duties,(maybe they never did poor fellows).
    Just so very unnecessary as I said.

    that is just shocking and very difficult to watch. for me personally being devoted to my dogs ( and cats too ) that I consider to be my only reason for living and I would give my life to any and all of them this is just a very disturbing thing to see. hopefully he has enough sense to not do this again. I'm afraid he may not have the sense to learn from this error. & it may be because of his age that his mental faculties are in question

      @misterflibble6601 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure that he could easily have made it far enough in 10 seconds to be concealed by the trees and how can you possibly know whether or not the dogs were scared?

    There's no survival instinct in those dogs? What was going on? Trained to follow their master even in death? They didn't even flinch!
