Runrig is a Scottish folk rock band in 1973 by brothers Rory and Calum MacDonald and Blair Douglas was established on the isle Skye. The music is sometimes described as "highland rock", and the music seems harsh, windy climate of the highlands to imitate. The songs in both English and Scottish-Gaelic singing.

Why can't people just be happy for Runrig? Donnie is off doing his own thing ( that he wanted to do! No one forced him out) and the guys are still happy and going strong. I have been listening to them since i was 4 years old! ... that's 23 years. I grew up with Donnie and continue to appreciate them with Bruce. I saw them in Manchester in November and it was one of the best concerts i have been to! If you don't like them now then fine go listen to someone else. Let the rest of us appreciate them

Unfortunately the haters will always hate Rachelle.
I first was aware of Runrig in 1978 so Donnie’s vocal will always be the best for me.
I hope in the eight years that past you are well, healthy and enjoying the music o Runrig.

I love Runrig Pure and simple. They speak to my soul, sad as that might sound. You dont have to be Scottish to get it. I see them more as taking their culture to the world as a gift. Many other bands do too. Maybe one day we will listen to that gift in the way it was intended, stop bitching and work together in the way that musicians do. That would be a great place to live!

    Hearthammer
    Runrig
    LYRICS
With the eyes of a child the wonder of it all
I used to search the stars at night and I felt so safe and small
Sweet sounds from a Mercy town and my nursery God
I wanted to ride with Yuri Gagarin as he circled all around my world
    Hearthammer and I lose control
    Hearthammer
Lying under the covers. Radio on
Settle down with Caroline as she sailed all summer long
    Sweetheart of the Rodeo
    Mining Hearts of Gold
I think it was somewhere post Rubber Soul
    Hearthammer and I lose control
    Hearthammer
    Hearthammer and I lose control
    Hearthammer
    There was the first caress
    There were the Labour years
There was the man that walked the moon something I never really believed
The Di Stefano twists the Charlton goals
Now I'm still here with the eyes of a child the wonder never grows old
    Hearthammer and I lose control
    Hearthammer
    Hearthammer and I lose control
    Hearthammer
    Hearthammer and I lose control
    Hearthammer
    The wonder never grows old

My son is in Glasgow working said they played Runrig in the bar he works (Bath Street Pony his name is Asa) and he thought of me and had a tear in his eye. That is what Runrig is the music, the memory, the tears etc. I am not a Gaelic speaker but two Runrig songs are my funeral songs. It's the music!

brownimfc - i was comparing runrig with bieber. your comment is irrelevant as is your argument, since it's so stale. i've been a fan of runrig for the past 35 years. donnie left in the 1997. he's still friends with all the lads & is also friends with bruce. the whole donnie vs. bruce argument might have held water in the previous century, but dear lawd, just give it a rest. did you want runrig to end & die 'cause donnie left? if your reply is yes, then you're nae true fan of the band.

2nd one; very heavy when you understand the words. Steel strengthens steel.

A feeling of long ago ..............
You can listen to the song from Clannad - The Poison Glen, maybe you recognize it.
I come from the Netherlands but feelings (from long ago) are boundless.
Look at the description, there are links where you can find more about Runrig.
    Have a nice time!
