In terms of best setters and straight setting, it is between Christensen and Sekita. But Christensen is a generational talent! For Ishikawa, he is in the prime of his athletic career and this could be his last push for dramatic improvements in his game. Which is hard to imagine since he is already such a well-rounded player that is above average in most things concerning volleyball. You made great points that Team Chemistry will determine whether the entire team evolves together or Yuki can be relegated to a flex player when he is struggling. In my opinion, in the Italian league, Yuki's best role so far is as a second or 3rd option on offense. However, when he gets HOT, he goes OFF and can take over sets. It was unfortunate that Yuki had such a great run the last year in the qualifiers and VNL but struggled during the Olympics. He is usually such a high efficient player but when he struggles, it is so noticeable! Glad to see him secure that MVP recently! Great content!
best setter to me is brizard. Strong captain, mentally stable, and a stronger server tan Giannelli, Christensen, Sekita. Great stuff Nick! really looking forward to your opinions on the upcoming superlega
I've definitely noticed the degradation in Giannelli's setting the past 2 years. Not sure what happened to him but right now it's either Christensen on Brizard at the top
I think the player who will struggle the most with Giannelli’s setting will be loser, in the Olympics he barely used the middles and when he did their efficiency wasn’t high
