  • This tutorial describes how to work with grouped data
    This is part of a series of tutorials designed to help research scientists in the use of certain software applications commonly used in scientific laboratory work.
    You can find the entire set of tutorial videos here: ehealth.kcl.ac.uk/sites/physio...
    The screencast videos have been made by the author (Dr James Clark, King's College London) in response to common questions raised by students on BSc and MSc courses and are recorded using Camtasia Studio. The content is targeted at students of all levels of undergraduate and postgraduate education as well as professional research scientists.

    I ve been watching most of your statistical videos and they are excellent. Keep it up. Anytime I am lost at any program, I look for your videos first. It's really practical and easy to follow.

    Dr. Clark, thank you very much for informative and helpful series.
    Can you please relate to the following question:
    in Grouped Data - what should I do if I have unequal number of data rows for different columns?
    Should I omit some of the data and get to equal number of rows for every column?
    Thank you,
    Dana

    Great series of videos here, very helpful! I'm just wondering as to how do you get the "not significant" bracket in the beginning of this video? Also, how do you create labelled horizontal bars to run along the x-axis? As seen in dose-response traces? Thanks.

      +HWCWTD the annotations are covered in a different TH-cam video i think; try here - th-cam.com/video/FH7-5uj5XdA/w-d-xo.html

    Great tutorial, thank you for doing this.
    In case you have time, I have one doubt. I made a grouped data graph, but I cannot exchange the independent variables por example I need to have the species on the X axis and the tissues of this species in bars of the columns, but with the grouped data sheet I'm only available to put the species in bars and the tissues in the X axis. Is there any way to change the form of the sheet in order to have the groups on the top in the side and the sides put in the top?

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jonfen to do this you have to enter the data the other way round.

    Hi James, quick question: Is it possible to have a varied number of sub columns across each group?

    • @DoryVideo
      @DoryVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Lachlan Ferguson that's more complicated than it sounds, you can just leave the columns blank but it will leave a gap on the graph

    • @lachlanferguson3580
      @lachlanferguson3580 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right. I thought prism may have considered blank columns as zeros, but your solution seems easy enough to deal with. Thanks!!

    Hi, can you do multiple t test on the grouped data and display the significance on the graph? Apparently, multiple t tests need the data to be in column while grouped data need the data to be in row. How do you resolve this?

    I have been really stuck trying to figure something out and I dont think this video addresses it, though is extremely helpful. I have 83 patients pre and post an intervention, with 32 different measurements I need to compare. How can I paste into one of the 32 columns for each patient across a row at a time? It just puts all the data into one group which is incorrect! Thanks :)
