- Just another maintenance video to go along with my 535is E28 Restoration series. Glad this worked, it saved me from buying and installing a new alternator.

Another thing to watch out for is the bulb illuminating the battery light. If that bulb burns out the battery won’t charge. Happened to me once. Love your videos, beautiful car.
another good tip is if you turn off the car, and the battery light flashes on before powering down; it means your alternator is functioning properly. That trick(and testing the alternator) saved me from buying a new one. Thanks for the support
I saw the battery light illuminated. Next time I’ll wait to the video ends 😂😂😂
Thk you for your video, keep making them and I keep watching them
That means a lot! valve Cover gasket is up next!
I have a 91’ e30 and I replaced the voltage regulator but the battery light is still on. Battery health is 100 %
Cranking is normal , charging is normal ( 14-14.2) . Anyone know why battery light still on ?
Usually when the light stays on it usually means your alternator isn’t doing good. Do you have an update?
I have a red e24 and if I don’t drive it for like 4 5 days battery gets low and then dies if I drive it we good but if I let it sit it does out
I would think this could be a solution for the e30 as well
It should. I would also recommend trickle charging your battery if it doesn’t work immediately.
@@MissionmadeAirsoft thanks for the tip
The second engine ground (ground strap) should be located on the passenger side engine mount
Thanks, Im going to take a closer look when I do my engine bay restoration when theirs less parts in the way.
But did the car keep dying when parked
Nope good to go. Been workin on the paint job for over 4 months now and she still starts right up when I need to move it around. Drop a sub paint job series coming soon!
What causes the brushes to wear out?
usually 20 years of use, their suppose to be replaced regularly, I'm surprised this one lasted so long.
