Finally the engineers are the stars of the race.

Seeing all of this is just amazing. Can't wait to see the finished cars battleing for the win!

Daniel Simon's design is my style. Everything from lightcycle to bubble ship to this car were like he know what i like.

3.6 Lift/Drag ratio? Thats not bad, better than I'd expect for something that looks so stylised. And 43.6% aero balance sounds nice and stable too. Impressed :)

kinda low for this type of car...I was expecting at least 0.2 CD...but hey,I'm not quite an expert at this, don't know how good is it with 3.6

Indeed, the most interesting aspect of roborace is aerodynamics !?!?!?!?

    • @EnricoMangosio
      @EnricoMangosio 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Sure, but the focus is autonomous drive.
Not the aerodynamics or the quality of materials or the color ... All the rest is discussed in so many other places. They should stay on track, if they have something to say...
      Until now, just nothing.

Going by the look of it in the wind tunnel, I love the look of it.
Hard to explain but it has a menacing, aggressive look and posture to it if you know what I mean.
I can't wait for the full size unveiling :)

Yeah, because of it's design you see that it's gonna be fast and that makes it menacing...

Since it's an A.I. driven car, why not have an AI also create the car body?

Cool concept cool car, beautiful looking, but still wondering about the race series itself. When the cars all look the same, and there's no driver, what makes a fan, a diehard, like Tifosi, or a gung-ho Hamilton supporter? When the aesthetic difference between each competitive team is the sponsor, and there's no personality of a driver involved, do we root for an energy drink company over an electronics manufacturer- being the largest visual difference in the race? We root for a sponsor? With spec cars and no drivers, you lose so much of the soul of what makes racing engaging. When someone dive bombs a corner or risks annihilation with an outside pass, it's exciting because there's a person in the car making a butt clenching decision. I just don't see the connection to the fan with a program.

Root for the team (engineers), instead of one idolized person like usual.

The future is machine dominated; self-driving cars which are safe, autonomous drone wars, sentient machine police departments a.k.a. Robocop. Getting ahead of the curve will prove lucrative. Answering your question, when the hardware is the same then it will be a battle of software supremacy. The driver AI will be making millions of calculations, follow in leading cars slip-stream to conserve battery charge, perform risky maneuver to win race but possibly fail and crash etc. The future is exciting.

THE BODY CONNECTIONS TO THE WHEELS ARE TOO THICK AND CREATE A LOT OF DRAG UNNECESSARILY.

3 races in and I still haven't seen a single freaking video of roborace. Can someone please explain to me how to WATCH one of these things instead of just read news about how a car avoided a dog?

The human is superior because she made the machine. Duh. A hammer is superior to my fist at hitting a nail into wood, but you would not refer to it as superior to a human.
