@SiteOfDeath 99% sure it works on both, doesn't rely on lurchless movement or anything, literally just need to use the grapple ability and the jump bind
th-cam.com/video/IONxCWhIqwc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=peJIc9_guBBfyrYN this tech was found almost a year ago, although this guy doesnt really explain how he does it
Ngl I kinda hate Kramer mains, like congrats at being good at the game but it straight up ruins the match for everyone including the team since no one gets kills
And you can’t even learn anything from it since dying over and over only teaches you to hide and be scummy to get kills which in turn ruins the game even more
So many situations in TF2 where I'd have to waste time wallrunning side to side or waste a good chunk of my grapple just to scale a high wall. This is a gamechanger
After a little testing, I noticed that the distance you need to shoot your grapple for the super jump depends on your speed. You need to aim slightly farther ahead while grapplehopping compared to running, and you can do it standing if you shoot the grapple right in front of your feet.
The fact this super jump can be done more or less from a standstill and costs no grapple charge is what's really crazy to me, because it means as long as you have the execution down reliably, this just becomes part of your fundamental movement kit as a grapple pilot, moreso even than the tactical's intended purpose.
thats sick. playing this game since the tech test I could have never imagined actually learning something cool like this so far in the games lifetime. W
Very informative. I've believed that there's still plenty of tech to uncover in this game for a while. Glad to see I'm not 100% insane, and only moderately so.
theres nothing more painful then getting stuck in a mantle animation when trying to climb a wall and then getting immediately eviscerated, this is super helpful, great video!
Crazy how a 6-minute yt video just took up 2 hours of my time. Thanks for publishing this info, practicing the grapple jump is really fun! Anyone having trouble, I recommend just playing around with the grapple sliding for a bit. Once you get a feel for when your body hits the grapple hitbox you can really time the jump better into the super jump!
@@YTMyx0 Yeah because slingshotting through the map, while cool and all, has people expect it 99% of the time nowadays and stim always had more uses mid-combat. this whole thing can change the whole grapple approach tho
@@SplitFace4393 and I mean when you use the same thing over and over its nice to try something else for novelty. What I really wouldnt wanna give up is the pilot design from stim but gotta challenge yourself somehow 😃
@ Well it's been 9 years and I've been playing since literally day1 so it's kinda impossible I never tried anything else.. I tried everything obv, but stim just feels coming back home every time
@@SplitFace4393 Dang, thats some crazy dedication to the game. Ive spend over 98% of time as pilot and like 90% of that was kraber in 700+ hours of playtime so theres still a lot I haven't really used in this game lmao 😅 My definition of novelty is switching from wingman to wingman elite or from kraber to charge rifle, haven't changed anything else in ages 😆 Its like an obsession.
This is crazy!! ive been a speedrunner for a while now and thought ive seen everything there is to know in this game. thank you for the new info! aah! thisll be so fun to master!
Im excited for this new tech and had an idea for it too. Super jump sling shots. If you save your D.J you could use it to slingshot from new areas. Add a grav star throw for a little extra speed too.
Ive discovered some of these years ago but as im not a content creator me and my friends just spread this tech with word of mouth in xbox lobbies over the years
Yeah it seems there's a few people that have found it by themselves, but obviously not a content creator so the majority of playerbase didn't know they existed
6K views on day one? i think that this is gonna become a lot more common bc thats a decent chunk of the community its very cool tho so honestly im glad i'll get to see it
So the "interaction" with the grapple is that you and it have *capsule collisions.* It's a common thing in games: most of your collisions with the world are done via a simple pill-like shape around your character. It's easier to calculate and more consistent. The grapple point has the same kind of shape for collision. They slide on each other. That should make this pretty easy to get a feel for, you literally bump into it.
I knew you could do more with it! Gonna try to master these and the grapple fling, which I still can't pull off. Soon, I'll be the fastest Frontier Defence main. 😂
Holy shit. I tested this a little a minute ago, i almost didn't believe it until i did it. This is FANTASTIC! I do think it's a bit of a shame it doesn't provide that much distance horizontally, but we have other things for that. But holy crap, the HEIGHT you get from this is crazy. Im gonna practice this like crazy.
I always did this accidentally over the years and I thought it was just an random chance thing like trimping in multiplayer. Even though grapple can’t be used in competitive this seems pretty sick to play around in multiplayer
Super jump seems to be a altered ‘spring jump’ (spring jump is a double jump with both jumps quick succession I believe found by zweek) so it can be called either super jump or grapple spring jump I suppose (also wall grapple spring jump but I think it also involves a bump launch so it could be grapple bump launch)- though of course naming belongs to the person who found and published it. Considering movement tech already in the game could yield much much more tech. I can’t test it at the moment however there’s a 40 min movement tech video by bryonato if you want to experiment. Oh and the first speed gaining tech i assume would just be called grapple bunny hopping, floor grapple boost or grapple slidehopping- last one is best description imo
I got nearly all of it down. The super wall jumps are still strange to me. Some walls seem to just be perfect and easy, while others seem impossible. I'm not even getting the bump.
I found this about a year ago and started making videos on it however my channel wasn't big enough to get this technique out there. I coined it grapple bouncing.
I haven't played titanfall in like at least a year but I can still say I've never played a game with as high of a skill ceiling since. Mental that there's still new movement techniques in 2025
YEAHHHH A movement tut brings back so many memories lol. Btw its strange that no one uses it I used to do that from a long time ago and just thought it was already a thing called grapple jump but I was wrong lol nice video Tho. I also don't know if you know this and I don't know if it works on controller I have tried many times but failed if you crouch at a corner with a 90 degrees angle and spam jump REALLLLLLLLLY FAST you can SUPPPPPPPPPER JUMP LIKE HIGGGGHHHH and see the whole map. I wasn't able to get it normally I had to use an auto clicker for the jump button.
I'm pretty sure I have done this a couple of times by accident but I couldn't recreate it. Also I didn't gain THAT much height so I didn't think too much of it. Wild that this was only properly discovered in 2025 haha
You guys ever get that feeling where you wish he had the video on unlisted and only sent you the link? So that way you were the only two who knew. Obviously that would be sick, he doesn't know who I am lol
if you can find a way to get more forward momentum with the superjump, it'd be like 1000 times more viable. I feel like a big hop upwards is really dependant on the map and maybe even on the platform you play on. Gonna try this a bit on pc, see if it works or if its a console thing.
Should theoretically work fine on pc. And i disagree tbh, so many new places to peak easy and surprise people, but i do think the main applications of this that will be very useful are usually when fairly stationary which isn't often
@@YTMyx0 To be fair, I think peak titanfall gameplay is either going mach50 always, or being able to swap between going mach 100 and walking gramma across the road. In the second instance, it'd be quite useful, but apart from trying to go that high, there's still easier tech to get up on places, that also dont require grapple. Still cool tech tho! But as a stim main, I'll pass :)
