Dear Charlie - thank you for sharing your story. It was very moving and impactful for me. A lot has happened over the last 2 months for my husband and I. We’re 43 years old, about to celebrate our 14 yr wedding anniversary and simply feel like we’re thriving. However, we were handed the news that’s forever changed our lives. Through various tests, scans, and biopsies, we’ve discovered that Jon, the love of my life has pancreatic cancer, which has potentially metastasized to his lungs. We are 3 chemo sessions in as of today and hope to move towards surgery in a few months. These past weeks have been among the most devastating and frightening of my life as we come to terms with this reality. While we are trying to remain hopeful, we are also acutely aware of the seriousness of the situation. The positivity you portrayed resonated with me - In light of everything that’s been happening , I decided to surprise Jon this past weekend by flying in his siblings and the wedding party to a beautiful resort in Palm Springs. We renewed our vows in an amazing and heartfelt ceremony, marking nearly 14 years of marriage. I strongly believe in the power of positivity and your story is epic tale of love, strength and hope.
