Android Beam used NFC to transfer files and text, so you had to keep the two phones touching back to back during the entire process. Airdrop now has a feature to initiate transfers by two devices being close, but it doesn’t transfer via NFC (it uses its own wifi network iirc) so you don’t have to keep the devices touching to send the file NameDrop doesn’t send over NFC either, but it seems to use the two devices being close as an “are you sure?” mechanism so people don’t accidentally start sharing contacts with people on accident.

How do you control what info you want to share with that specific person?? Like what if I want to do this with someone at work so they have my email but not my social media etc

I totally disagree with this feature.. this could be a privacy issue where anyone can use your iPhone and steal your contact info without realizing.. or perhaps trying to send an airdrop and instead send a name-drop?
So like you mean If I do that with someone I will have their number and contact info that fast instead of them telling you and you writing it right and what if someone one did that secretly without you knowing because if they do that can steal your contact info

This feature only looks cool but I can only share my contact, there’s a way around to send any other contact on my library but it’s too confusing and time consuming. Samsung had this years ago called nfc share and you can share pictures, contacts, web pages…. You name it! And it was in a single tap, not like this. But I got to give it to apple because the animation looks good, but years behind android

That’s Home Screen by default. Same on Mac. When you enter the launchpad, it blurs the background and you see your apps.
