  • Leave it to Norway to leave such an impression on me. I love the folk/nordic/rock vibes from this song. #Gåte#

Gåte’s music is a dark, mesmerizing and stunningly beautiful take on Nordic folk. Where they flirt with elements from traditional Norse and pagan music as well as from more modern genres like rock and industrial.
The chorus is a socalled KULOKK, - the maiden calling the cattle in from the the mountains. The roots of this song is a thousand years old.

Hey, yea this is an iconic band with an outstanding performance. In my view they slaying it compared the the rest of teh enteries. Listen to it agan and notice the faint backing vocals. That is Agnete (from Djerv) who also sing on the Dimmu Borgir song "Gateways". There are black metal vibes to that backing choir. Check out the Gåte music video "Svarteboka" (black book), that also feature Djerv. You will get that dark norwegian metal feeling. Great reaction man. Thanks

@@miiyu69 Oh did you misunderstand? We all know that Gunnhild is teh vocalist in Gåte. Djerv is doing the backing vocals that you hear in teh faint background. Gunnhild and Agnete (Djerv) is also doing a duet with the song "svarteboka". You should know this :) Cheers

This band is very professional and has played together for over 20 years! They have won several Norwegian Grammy-awards! Love the song Ulveham, definitely a contender to win Eurovision 🥇❤️

Gåte equals more or less enigma, riddle or something like that. But the meaning goes deeper as well :) Ulveham roughly translates to wolf in sheeps clothing

Nice video! It was definitely the right year for you to see what Norway sends to Eurovision. ;) Definitely check out more by Gåte. If you liked this, some other newer songs like "Huldra" or "Svarteboka (ft. Djerv)" are good places to start! (But definitely also check out older stuff, like "Knut Liten og Sylvelin (Iselilja)", "Du Som Er Ung", "Sjå Attende", etc.) ;)
The Italian Sanremo Music Festival is similar to the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix in that it's the event that determines which artists the country sends to Eurovision. And Eurovision takes place in whatever country won the finals the previous year.

I am surprised that with some reaction videoes..and none has mentioned the background "noise"..as in those are extreme metal vocals. I love that small detail, however faint it is. Or..there is something wrong with my hearing 😂😂

@@ahkkariq7406 No. Its riddle in the strictest sense of the word. Loosly you could interpret it in the direction of enigma. But the dictionary definition for enigma is : a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand. In Norwegian you would say mysteries or mystisk. You could use the word gåtefull for enigma but it's not entirely accurate as a translation.

I don't think that's the case, I think everyone is entitled to there own taste. Discovering new music and talking about it simply doesn't make one less informed then the rest of the world. In fact it takes Americans to talk about the rest of the world to bring artist normally people would look over into the light. :)
