@@violinlounge So typically, would it be like Violin C Soprano, Viola G Alto, Cello G Bass/Contra-Alto & Doublebass CC Contrabass? That's how we class brass & woodwinds lol. I could never figure out how to class strings. We go by the lowest natural open fingered note on wind instruments.

Do strings have fundamental pitches like brass instruments or do you just go by the lowest string?
It depends on the tuning and length of the strings.
