I’m sure you’re too busy to read any of your comments but I’m thinking of patients my husband and I started Homestead three years ago and he built us a little cabin. It’s very small and it doesn’t have any water in it except the shower so we have to pump water outside at the well and carry it in … it’s been three years and he still is building our house because we do not want to have debt. House has been built slowly as we can afford it. my patients is getting tried as every fall my husband says one more winter in the cabin

He was kind enough to though to buy me spikes for my boots. But I all honestly he’s made me the most beautiful humble house completely by himself with zero debt. Works on other projects from 6am till 2pm and then comes home and builds here. I’m extremely grateful and at 63 I’m getting very strong. Water is heavy …🥵

So if I leave a family because I can't cope with the abuse, or I leave work because it causes stress and physical pain as a result of stress, this lacks unity and therefore lacks charity? And if I don't sustain the suffering, I don't have patience?
Yes. But also, since virtue is a muscle and your spiritual muscles aren't strong enough to sustain those sufferings yet without falling into sin(gossip, anger, sloth, etc), it is better for most people to remove themselves from those situations, and would not necessarily be sinful, just not perfect. Everything must be governed by prudence, and it's perfectly fine to prudently remove yourself from a situation in which you would potentially lose your soul.
This priest injects some of his own opinion and worldview into what is valid Church teaching. Nowhere in Church teaching does it say some of the things he opinionated. What I hate is that so many priests abuse the valid authority of the priesthood by mixing in their own ideas and opinions as if they are part of the whole. The culture of the church has too often tolerated and minimized abuse as this priest is doing. It's shameful

Multiple things. I stopped listening after awhile. For example, his opinions on child discipline, making fun of "time out", saying hitting kids doesn't traumatized them, saying people go back to prison because it's not harsh enough, etc. I am paraphrasing for brevity, I am just listing the general topics. None of thst is church teaching. And does not line up with lived experience The United States has a VERY punitive criminal justice system,,,,and also the highest return rate in the world. For example. And hitting kids very often does traumatize them, and "time out" is not just sending the kid somewhere else to play. But he mixes these personal opinions in with church teaching, not having the humility to delineate and separate his opinions from valid teaching.
Time out for children is suppose to be that they must sit and not play. Must be right there with the parent. For minor infractions of course Use common sense. And if you have an Austitic child then you have to be careful as to how the child mentally processes what is happening. And autistic children cannot have someone screaming or yelling around them. Its too much. Know the child and use common sense.
This priest does well when he sticks to Church teaching. When he veers off into his own personal opinions and his own personal social commentary he goes way off base and reveals his lack of life experience. A lot of what he says does not line up with reality and he should not be giving parenting advice. Lots of parents discipline and teach their children successfully without hitting them all the time, the idea that children require aversion training as if they are some kind of brute animals is a very damaging idea, this is a perfect example of why so many kids raised in conservative religious environments run for their LIVES when they get older.
These conferences have been fantastic, life changing, encouraging and helpful in my journey and faithfulness towards the goal. Thankyou Father

In Thee and in Thy Immaculate Heart, at this grave hour of human history, do we put our trust; to Thee we consecrate ourselves, not only with all of Holy Church, which is the Mystical Body of Thy Son Jesus, and which is suffering in so many of her members, being subjected to manifold tribulations and persecutions, but also with the whole world, torn by discords, agitated with hatred, the victim of its own iniquities.

Give Peace to the nations that are separated from us by error or discord, and in a special manner to those peoples who profess a singular devotion toward Thee; bring them back to Christ’s One Fold, under the One True Shepherd. Obtain full freedom for The Holy Church of God; defend her from her enemies; check the ever-increasing torrent of immorality; arouse in the faithful a love of Purity, a practical Christian Life, and an Apostolic Zeal, so that the multitude of those who serve God may increase in merit and in number. Ask Thy Son to send us Holy Priests and in numbers to serve the needs of the Catholic faithful. Be Thou the Mother of Priests and Seminarians, keeping them Pure, devoted to Thee and Thy Son, maintain them as men set apart and exclusive for serving the Holy Trinity and Thee. Do not let the torrents of worldly woes touch them. And give us a more tender Love for Thy Immaculate Heart so that we may draw closer to Thee and to them by praying for them faithfully.
O Mary, Mother Most Pure, through whose compassion we have received the Holiest of Priests; O Glorious Patriarch, St. Joseph, perfect model of cooperation with the Divine Call; O Holy Priests, who in Heaven compose a Choice Choir about the Lamb of God.
Obtain for us many good Vocations in order that the Lord’s Flock, through the support and government of Vigilant Shepherds, may attain You the enjoyment of the most Delightful Pastures of Eternal Happiness.
Finally, even as the Church and all mankind were once consecrated to the Heart of Thy Son Jesus, because He was for all those who put their hope in Him an Inexhaustible Source of Victory and Salvation, so in like manner do we consecrate ourselves forever to Thee also and to Thy Immaculate Heart, O Mother of us and Queen of the World, may Thy Love and Patronage hasten the day when the Kingdom of God shall be Victorious and all the Nations, at Peace with God and with One another, shall call Thee Blessed and Intone with Thee, from the Rising of the Sun to its going Down, the Everlasting “Magnificat” of Glory, of Love, of Gratitude to the Heart of Jesus, in which alone we can find Truth, Life, and Peace.

Yes. But also, since virtue is a muscle and your spiritual muscles aren't strong enough to sustain those sufferings yet without falling into sin(gossip, anger, sloth, etc), it is better for most people to remove themselves from those situations, and would not necessarily be sinful, just not perfect. Everything must be governed by prudence, and it's perfectly fine to prudently remove yourself from a situation in which you would potentially lose your soul.

This priest injects some of his own opinion and worldview into what is valid Church teaching. Nowhere in Church teaching does it say some of the things he opinionated. What I hate is that so many priests abuse the valid authority of the priesthood by mixing in their own ideas and opinions as if they are part of the whole. The culture of the church has too often tolerated and minimized abuse as this priest is doing. It's shameful

Multiple things. I stopped listening after awhile. For example, his opinions on child discipline, making fun of "time out", saying hitting kids doesn't traumatized them, saying people go back to prison because it's not harsh enough, etc. I am paraphrasing for brevity, I am just listing the general topics. None of thst is church teaching. And does not line up with lived experience The United States has a VERY punitive criminal justice system,,,,and also the highest return rate in the world. For example. And hitting kids very often does traumatize them, and "time out" is not just sending the kid somewhere else to play. But he mixes these personal opinions in with church teaching, not having the humility to delineate and separate his opinions from valid teaching.
Time out for children is suppose to be that they must sit and not play. Must be right there with the parent. For minor infractions of course Use common sense. And if you have an Austitic child then you have to be careful as to how the child mentally processes what is happening. And autistic children cannot have someone screaming or yelling around them. Its too much. Know the child and use common sense.
This priest does well when he sticks to Church teaching. When he veers off into his own personal opinions and his own personal social commentary he goes way off base and reveals his lack of life experience. A lot of what he says does not line up with reality and he should not be giving parenting advice. Lots of parents discipline and teach their children successfully without hitting them all the time, the idea that children require aversion training as if they are some kind of brute animals is a very damaging idea, this is a perfect example of why so many kids raised in conservative religious environments run for their LIVES when they get older.
