Love, just love your magical gift of painting. I hear what you are saying about being too tight in painting, and that is me...haha. I try so hard but always go to, or end up, with detail. I think it is because I began painting with the one stroke technique for so many years and now I cannot seem to "unlearn" it. I will keep trying though. Tks.
@@katiebecker8354 NO, I am an alla Prima painter so I just start painting after I get that initial wash on. I do have several other tutorials on my own youtube channel. Elizabeth Robbins Art plus have you seen our new online course inspiredtopaint.com

Elizabeth What do you apply to the canvas before painting?
I too have a love affair with roses. Your paintings are inspiring!
Did you use gamsol with your first layer of the background?
Gamsol mixed with your paint on first layer of background?
@@katiebecker8354 Yes I use Gamsol in the beginning stages and then switch to Neo Megilp when adding the detail
I love your style. I’m learning so much. Thank you
One last questions, is it necessary to let that first layer with gamsol dry before moving on the neo Megilp? Thank you
