I have to agree, it’s not only playing the game itself, it’s the atmosphere that also makes arcades so magical. Nothing beat chaining your bike up and going into the cool dark world of the arcade, it was magical.

I'm old enough that I played most of those when they were new and they were truly AMAZING!

I played the baseball and basket ball games at the big arcade at the Santa Cruz boardwalk in the late 1960s. They had all kinds of the old mechanical machines back then. Thanks for reviving old childhood memories. I recall playing the STUNT PILOT game, which used a 2-way mirror with the airplane behind the mirror and the scenery reflected from below. That's why the biplane has a ghostly look.

Mortal Kombat was made by the same developers and engineers at Williams, WMS Industries decided to split the brands around that same time. Pinball and Shuffles would be Williams or Bally, all video would be Midway. It was all the same company until the Midway IPO in 1996. And, even then, the companies still were kind of together physically.

Cool video that showcased a lot of stuff i’ve never seen or of heard of! The only thing i would say is at 10:05 you got the bat mechanism wrong for the official baseball. On this machine and i think all pitch and bat games it is a solenoid that swings the bat. The physical bat is attached to a switch and that’s it. Source: I own this game and a couple other pitch and bats.

I have a few Pitch & Bats, and actually the 1960 Bally Ball Park's
bat operates from a motor, and it's been awhile since I went through
it, but I believe the 1955 United Star Slugger does also..

I remember a old machine in the main street mall in Durango Colorado that play a scene and the characters danced and moved around. It had music playing. I don't know what you call those kind of machines. Maybe you do.

Wild! Sounds like I either just barely missed some of those, or maybe my parents just didn't let me play those when they saw them.

    Wow! Memory lane 🥳
I recall the basketball and submarine one at an arcade in Reykjavík 🇮🇸 back in the late 70’s - Also think the one with the biplane was there too, but permanently broken (funny how I recall that) - I even smell that place too 🥳
