Just reading John Taylor’s book “In The Pleasure Groove”. Duran Duran certainly hit gold when Simon Le Bon walked through the doors of the Rum Rummer. Vocalist/Lyricist/Charismatic front man: rolled into one!
40 years Strong !!!! Duran Duran is the best band going, and still putting out amazing music 🎶 and touring like a big band of brothers!!! I have been with them since they first started here in the states, and I will always be with this wonderful and amazing band!!!
Gosh, watching these old concerts...still makes me well up.. 40 years later! I feel bad sometimes that they weren’t taken seriously Bc we were just screaming!! but we really couldn’t help it. We really LOVED them (and still do!) They had such a genuine infectious positive energy! They had fantastic deep lyrical songs (and we knew all the words..we listened to the music!) with cool grooves, amazing videos,they all had funny, cute, witty personalities and my GOD were they just absolutely gorgeous!! Over the last 40 years (Unreal!!!) They have continued to change, grow and move forward. I really hope this new album in 2021 brings us all together in love again! Somehow! Love this band forever!! Duranies Rock On!!😍🤩

This is the best band in the world. Everything about them is perfect. No other band comes close. I wish I lived in 1985 and met these guys or even be one of them in the band.
it's a little bit a shame that andys guitar always was mixed in the background - especially "the reflex" has such a great guitar lick in "..so why don't you use it.."; if andy were allowed to turn the speakers louder, that bit would sound like ac/dc... very powerful, full of energy. i love andys contribution to duran duran.

+Mike H. Andy stated in many reunion interviews that he would often turn it up during the live shows and shred the guitar - and that he'd hear about it after the show - but never cared! HAHA
I always thought Duran Duran had the best melodies and ideas for songs, but the final construction was sometimes lacking, or their choice for a single. "Midnight Sun" is a prime example of a song that would have been great if tweaked just a little more-they ended up chopping it to bits for the Medazzaland album.
Nick was always wary of Andy's penchant for old school rock n roll. In fairness to Nick his keyboards were very textured and not very loud in the mix either. But the way Andy adapted his sound to suit a band that he probably wouldn't have been into otherwise is a testament to what a great player he was. I don't think he gets enough credit for how much he brought to create that definitive Duran Duran sound. Most bands of their ilk didn't have a guitarists because it was so out of vogue in 79/80. As a result a lot of the hipsters in London stuck their noses up at Duran Duran and called them another ''heavy metal'' band from Birmingham
I always thought Simon's amazing made him look like... Princess Diana. Seriously. Especially in the Is There Something I Should Know? video - he even does the head tilt :)
