    These are wonderful. I love how they are short to specific topics, that you give files to use. Most important that a lot of the areas are from NH which I live and photograph in. thank you again

    I know these are a couple of years old, but you are wonderful about explaining the app. I have owned it for a while, but didn’t start to learn it seriously until I stumbled upon your tutorials. Thanks very much.

    Greetings from Scotland Brenda, you are hands down the best educator online for PhotoPills, I have it installed alongside TPE and have always just stuck with TPE as I understood it better and struggled with some of the info on PhotoPills, but I’m getting the hang of it and loving watching your concise and easy to follow tutorials. Many thanks, Lawrence :)

    I'm so glad I found your channel, I've had this app for over a year and do not use it because I couldn't figure it out. My question, can I set either pin by entering coordinates? I have some locations than I'm struggling to pinpoint and I have the coordinates. If I could just enter them and have the pin go there it would save a lot of time. Thanks again.

    Dear Brenda, congratulations. It was another perfect lesson. Thanks! I have a question about the deal between 14:44m to 15:04m. So, please, do you have any image about how will be the sun or the moon on the photo? I'm from Brazil and all of your videos are awesome. Thanks.

      Thanks Marchel! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. I go into more detail about the info you are asking about in Episode 8: th-cam.com/video/GttzVjzi4RA/w-d-xo.html. Basically, the closer you are to your subject, the smaller the sun or moon will appear relative to your subject. The farther you are away from your subject, the larger the sun or moon will appear. This "size" feature in PhotoPills just helps you visualize the size of the sun or moon based on your red and black pin locations.

    Hi Brenda! Thanks for your Photopills video course! I have one question about black pin positioning. As I can understand it, Photopills finds elevation of the black pin based on the ground level from the map. But what about, for example, tall building standing on the position of the black pin? Is it possible to change the elevation manualy or even better to "tap" the black pins elevation in AR view of Photopills standing on the red pin position?
    Thanks for information!

    How to put the black pin in a exact lat/lon position ? The only trick I found was to add a point of interest at that location, set the red pin at the POI, then manually move the black pin over the red pin, then move the red pin away by putting it on my place and move it where I will shot my photo, with the proper moon/sun alignment. Not that easy !
    My target - where I will place the black pin - is a (huge) boat anchored in the sea, so the map doesn't help. The boat relocates by 2-5 km 3 to 4 times a day and I only know its position with 2-3 hours notice, enough for me to go in the correct location on the shore but not enough to test and try too many times.

    Regarding the distance measurement of the sun height from the black pin. Does this mean that the sun is directly overhead of the black pin, in this case the observatory?

    If your subject is the milky way, let’s say over a mountain range, where or how far away from your red pin do you set the black pin.

    • @outdoorphotographyschool7366
      @outdoorphotographyschool7366  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You would set your black pin on your subject, so in this case, if you wanted to include the mountain range, then you would put the black pin on the mountain range.

      Just go into the main menu of PhotoPills, click on My Stuff --> Settings, and then Units, and then you can change to imperial.
