  • How do you say 'Water' in Ojibwe. Here are some teachings about water. I'll also go over the phrase
Nibi gaa-bimaaji'iwemagak 'The water that gives life'.

I absolutely adore the way you speak in these videos. I do not mean what language you use,the words you choose, or even the points you are trying to make(although are all wonderful things that I appreciate about you.) What captivates me , holds my attention and means the most to me is how I can “feel” what you are saying. Your delivery, and the way you place pause, emphasis, and tones shows me as much as it tells me how deeply you care about what you’re saying and strong your desire is to share the feelings as much as the thoughts that are interwoven into what you are speaking about. You unwavering reverence and respect shine beautifully in these brief but immensely important lessons. Chi-miigwech!

There's a Hopi Elder who has a book about vibration. It appears that many of the more ancient people based words solely on vibratory effect which probably gives them more spiritual potency.

Good time of the day! I was very glad to find you in this world. I am glad for your careful attitude to the language and spirituality of the indigenous peoples. I welcome your position in life and the struggle to preserve the language and spirituality of the indigenous peoples. I myself am Sakha from Siberia. May success accompany you! All the best!

I like that you can't hear much English in your accent when you speak Ojibwe. Miigwech for teaching these words on TH-cam.

Hi! I’ve been watching you’re videos. I’m Ojibwe from red cliff.. we never learned our language when I was younger.. but I’m super interested now. I’m having my 3rd son, and am looking for some names for him. 💙 if anyone can give some names that would be amazing

I like the names Waubgeshig and Mshukwad since they were two of my friend's names in high school.

Thank you for providing these talks. I am learning so much. In the transition to my next career, I am hoping to educate and inspire people to protect our waterways in Michigan.
I feel so drawn to water and in a way most cannot understand. My grandfather was from Mt. Pleasant, possibly Ojibwe. No matter where we move to, I must seek out the nearest water source, even in large urban areas. The smell of clean lakes and rivers is intoxicating and it calms me. I have discovered a very strong interest in river otters, too.
    Again, thank you!

Beautiful! Miigwech, James! Would love to know how to spell the phrase that translates to "The Spirits shall decide when we see each other again" if I may ask please? Much love from Toronto!

Chii miigwech! I love how you taught us about "nibi"!
Strangely enough, I found the woman's song of "nibi" on a business card in my home last night and I put it on a saucer on the counter so I could see it!
I love how the magic happens!😁
