If someone had told me an hour ago: "Someone should arrange Scheherazade for piano and double bass", I would have said "What a ridiculous idea." But I don't say so anymore. After giving this a listen I begin to wonder why any composer ever bothered with anything other than piano and double bass. :-)
Great stuff, and I look forward to hearing more such absurd arrangements!

For so many years have I been looking for an arrangement of this piece, wondering why no one has made a proper transcription of the suite for double bass! This is simply exceptional! The warm, tender tone of double bass suits this piece like no other string instrument.
