MsMojo, how did you manage to keep this from getting demonitized? Mine was demonitized the second it was up. :/ (Nice video though. I like some of the clips you guys used.)
This case is so insane, that you can't believe that it actually occurred! Elle Fanning looks so unrecognisable as Michelle, major kudos to the hair and makeup department! 💞👏🏾
If your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/partner/etc. doesn’t do everything in their power to stop you from harming yourself, RUN! They do NOT love you or care about you.
…ok um… being ina relationship with someone who constantly threatens to harm or kill themselves isn’t something that an individual has to put up with. We have to put on our own oxygen masks before putting them on the person next to us. If your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/partner etc is using their mental illnesses to manipulate you and hold you down, RUN. And before anyone tries to come for me I have Borderline Personality Disorder with heavy suicidal ideation, and GAD. You don’t. Use attempts. To manipulate. Your loved ones.
Coco try to kill himself previously. He would of done that regardless. His dad abused him multiple time. The only person to blame is himself. Not a girl who lived 50 miles away. Wake up out of that pointing finger mentality
What is sad is that at first he couldn't even go through with it. He got out of the truck and was messaging her. She not only told him to get back in she was very aggressive with demanding him to go back in. She taunted him saying she knew he couldn't do it etc.
I know! Those horrible texts she wrote, all in block capitals, telling him she felt "PLAYED" and demanding he kill himself are just so chilling. Poor Conrad - I wish he'd known you (or me!). We could have protected him from that biatch!
@@juliettexox9311 The information is correct, the mode of communication was not. It doesn't automatically take away all significance from what was said
I'm genuinely curious about why she suddenly changed from wanting him to seek help to helping him off his own life. I think she was so detached from reality that she felt like she was a character in one of her favorite shows. She was very much alone and all her friends hated her. They were both so depressed and mentally ill. Not a good mix.
She got tired of him complaining about being depressed and wanted him dead. Girls aren’t innocent. When they are sick of something they have no empathy or kindness in them and are ok with you dying
It was her deranged version of her saving him, by letting him kill himself, because if she cannot save him by talking him off doing it, she will help him the other way. lIKE YOU SAID- AN UNHEALTHY MIX OF TWO MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE.
I think she realized that she could get attention and affection from her grief. When her “friends” didn’t want anything to do with her, she would use something dramatic or sad to coerce them. Being a grieving girlfriend who “was the only person who really knew him” meant so much attention. She needed it
She basically did this to garner attention because she did not feel popular enough. She had no problem playing a part in sacrificing another person’s life in order to get the attention she desperately craved. That’s how fucked up she was. And for those of you who think her sentence was too harsh, please tell me how you would feel if your brother, sister, or child was in the same situation as Conrad and their “best friend” encouraged them to take their life. As a friend to someone I love, I would be turning the earth upside down to help them, to prevent them from destroying their life and the lives of the people that love them. They say be careful what you wish for. Well, she certainly got a lot of attention now. Her lifelong punishment is that she has to live in her own skin.
he fucked with her for ages with constant suicide threats and a cycle of getting her to "save him" (which is abuse) , even though she tried repeatedly to be his savior she was getting played continuously, and eventually he started suggesting she kill herself too, so she was finally like fuck him.
Some people have a duty to report. She didn't, but for those who do, even if that person is off work, they still have a duty to report. If she was a nurse, cop, or teacher she would be definitely be charged for more than 2 years.
But her duty was more sadistic she was wanting to take the whole family's grief and insert herself into the boy's family. While she was building herself to be this martyr saint suport suprr hero desperate for fuk up attention.
No. You don't get life in prison just because you smoke. That is a false correlation. Lots of people smoke including those who commit crimes. That's your only correlation.
@@danidesip2432 🤦♀️ it was to say people going to jail for the pettiest of crimes get jail time while serious crimes like this one only gets a slap on the wrist when she needs to be place behind bars. Imagine shes free and on social media talking to people. She could do it again..
Nobody in the history of humans has ever gotten life in prison just for smoking weed. You're an idiot if you believe otherwise. Nobody has ever gotten a life sentence even for SELLING weed, or for selling any other drugs. You have to commit murder, or a repeated pattern of committing other violent crimes, to get life in prison. NOBODY gets life for petty, non-violent crimes. Literally nobody. Not in America anyway.
I remember this case! There are groups up supporting her and saying she shouldn't get any time she did nothing wrong. I remember feeling disgusted about how these groups actually supported her and what she did.
@@YaniY2k I’ve watched multiple documentaries about this case , they both were unhealthy. However towards the end he taunted and taunted her about killing himself . She would wake up worried that he did it . He Kept saying he was a prisoner in his body and then threatened her if she told anyone he wouldn’t talk to her . At the end of the day it was his choice . If your friends jumped off a cliff would you do it too?
An eating disorder does not compare to depression. In the end he said he thought he should tell his parents. He had doubts about what she was helping him plan. She encouraged him not to quit in his quest to kill himself. He died with her on the phone and she pretended that she didn’t know anything about it. She should have told his parents that he was contemplating suicide. She told him to get back in the truck! She is a psychopath. You may very well be the kind of person that sends letters of support to murderers in prison.
@@LiamN407 yeah I agree. I used to think she was crazy until I learned more about the case. It kind of reminds me of how some people threaten to kill themselves to prevent someone from leaving them. I think she eventually just gave in and told him to go through with it. She was also extremely depressed herself. So it was just a bad combo to begin with.
Stephanie Harlowe has a really good two piece video on this case. She reads the texts out, there just... unbelievable. It's really well researched and presented.
We ALL love Stephanie! There's another girl (I won't name her, although it's tempting) who makes true crime videos like Stefanie but what gets me is . . . she fake cries at the end of EVERY single video, saying things like, "Sorry guys! I don't think I can make any more true crime videos after this! It's too traumatic!" as if she's the victim (spoiler alert: she ALWAYS does make more 🙄 ). Stefanie on the other hand is bad ass. Sincere, passionate, COMPassionate and always supplies her audience with as many facts as possible. And best of all, she doesn't insult our intelligence by fake crying. LoL. Sorry. If you know who I'm talking about, maybe you'll understand this rant!
This isn't even "encouraging" someone to commit suicide. She talked him into it. She emotionally abused him into it. Edit: Didn't say this at first, but I don't think she should have gone to jail. I stand behind my first statement, even though the more I learn about the relationship, the more it seems like reactionary abuse. She did talk him into suicide, but the consequence should not have been jail
I genuinely respect your opinion, however, Idisagree. No one can ever make anyone commit s * i * i d e. Period. It's unacceptable to put all of that grief on one person.
I also disagree - anyone who allows anyone else this power over their wellbeing is already destined for a very bad fate - but her actions were morally wrong in fact disgusting but that is not the same as legally wrong..... this society is far too fond of blaming others for their problems.... we are responsible for ourselves....
@@midsummersnight3848 incorrect she basically bullied him into it in a nice way egging it on. Just like the trolls on the internet telling ppl to k**l themselves. 😒
She was supportive of him for years. He’d say things like “Go for a run, fatty!” - Knowing her history of ED. I don’t blame her for what he did. She was genuinely supportive for a long time until she wasn’t.
It's so disturbing that someone would do something like what this girl did, when so many of us would love to know the magic words to tell someone who's going through depression. It's really outrageous.
Not playing Devils advocate, but if we as an entire human race dont know the "magic" words to help someone, how was this mentally ill 17 year old girl supposed to know.... It's all just so sad. And he was such an intelligent, empathetic, bright, handsome young man. Saying "it will get better" just isnt enough. And how was she supposed to be responsible for his life when she wanted to end her own? 😢
This is the town I live near, in the school I go to. This case is absolutely insane. Teens' mental health needs to be more carefully considered. This is so sad :(
I’ve not seen the show, but I’ve seen coverage of the case & it’s so tough to hear. Considering I struggle with my mental health and have attempted suicide, those parts are the hardest & to hear Conrad tried to stop and was pushed to die hurts even more. Michelle needs a lot of help for her own mind & I do hope she can get it so she doesn’t hurt anyone else or herself
Me too I remember he said I don’t think I can do this and he got out of the car he didn’t want to do it and then she told him get back in the car and do it
You sound like a really nice person Alyssa. I suffer depression too and suicide runs in my family. You have compassion for Conrad but it sounds like you have some empathy for Michelle also. I'm afraid I haven't got much time for her. Well, it's not so much her but the people who make excuses for her. I particularly find it offensive when her supporters say HE was the one who was a manipulative, abusive attention-seeker. People who say this need to look up the definition of manipulation. And I can't help thinking that nobody would ever dare say this if HE was the one to talk HER into killing herself.
@@AnnabelleCharrier I followed the case for years. Your aware that Roy was physically abused by his father and tried to kill himself atleast four times before hes suicide right?
@@AnnabelleCharrier You dont think the physical abuse along with taking antidepressants which side effects are suicidal thoughts/ action had anything to do with what happened? All of which had a physical effects on Roy at the time!
The moment I heard this happening, I was immediately filled with hell fire anger towards this little girl. Couples r to help and support each other in difficult times, but this little girl just added negative fuel to the fire.
She was 17, with her own mental health issues. I am sorry, but she is not responsible. He took his own life, tried to do this the year before and was set on killing himself for years. He bombarded her with this day in and day out. It is my hope, she moves forward, and resolves her own mental health issues. She deserves to live a happy life.
She ended up serving LESS THAN 1 YEAR!!! WTF!?!? SHE WAS THE DIRECT CAUSE OF HIS DEATH , REGARDLESS IF SHE 'PULLED THE TRIGGER' (JUST A SAYING) OR NOT. SHE IS A CO-CONSPIRATOR OR ACCOMPLICE AT LEAST AND DESERVED A HARSHER SENTENCE. In her (& his) state suicide is legal, yet assistance to suicide (eg: helping another commit the act) IS ILLEGAL. SHE (BY DEFINITION) IS AN ACCOMPLICE SINCE SHE DID ASSIST WITH THE SUICIDE. ANYONE CAN READ 5% OF THE TEXTS SHE SENT TO KNOW THAT IS FACT
She was not the direct cause of his death. In the end it was HIS CHOICE. Also assisted suicide is legal in their state. He suffered with so many mental issues and so did she. He was emotionally abusive with her also.
Totally agree. The only mystery for me is whether the eyebrows were a defense strategy or a natural progression for her. We’ll see (and don’t spoil it for me if you already know 😁).
She may not rot in jail but her soul will surely rot in hell. I lost a brother to suicide and it was the most painful experience our family had to go through. How could she do that to his family, specially to his mom? Sick woman.
@@decker8202 I'm sorry to hear about your son. I'm sure it's more difficult because you're a mom, and I really hope that you're not blaming yourself for what happened. Man… the poor young man. The amount of times his consciousness tried to pull him out from critical depression…poor guy… this is why I look away from the news.
@@dadillonful he was coerced and manipulated, then she lied about and played victim. Your right, he did commit suicide, but his girlfriend severely pushed him to that ledge, instead of helping or seeking help. And she not charged with murder, just manslaughter.
This case is so devastating. I feel so bad for his family. How could someone encourage their boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse to hurt themselves? You'd have to be evil to do that. I know she struggled with mental health problems too, but there's no excuse for being malicious and telling someone to off themselves. The fact that she did it for attention shows she was probably a narcissist. What's sad is that she seems so normal. Had I met her, I never would have suspected something like that. It's also sad how easy it is to relate to being lonely and not having real friends, but her actions are still inexcusable. Hopefully this story can teach people about mental health awareness for teens. I hope what happened to Conrad never happens again. That poor boy!
I feel terrible for Conrad and his family. I watched the Hulu series and couldn’t stop sobbing. He deserved to live. This case hit me different because I live 15 minutes from Plainville, and when I went to their Facebook profiles I saw that I had some mutual friends with both of them. Theres something about a tragedy happening so close to home that hits different, I didn’t know Conrad but I wish I could go back in time and step in. I probably could’ve been the friend he needed, having struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts myself in the past. He was just going through something, deep down he didn’t actually want to die. He was so in love with that girl that when she started to say things like “why do you never actually do it”, he felt the need to prove her wrong. And of course if you’re suicidial, and the one person you love tells you you should end it all, you’re not going to want to live. She was the final decision maker in his death. She should be in jail for life because as far as I’m concerned she murdered Conrad.
What she did was horrible, but there's a difference between payback and justice Let the punishment fits the crime In some other states or some other countries, this won't even lead to any jailtime In cases like this, lines between morals and laws tend to be blurred I think she should go to prison, but doing hard time for this is too much Afterall, she didn't "force" or "coerce" him, she encouraged and manipulated him into suicide All i'm saying is, people sometimes miataken "go to jail" and "go to hell" for the same thing
Of course she should, 20 or 30 years at least, all this rehabilitation nonsense, makes me sick, it always happens and many people go on to murder again🇬🇧👎👎🤔🤔
Some call this a case of assisted suicide. No. That's where you hook someone up to a lethal injection device or pull life support at their behest. That this girl asked them for a day if they knew where he was when she was fully aware, that was a taunt. Asking for some of his things, she wanted trophies. This girl is a psychopath who'd made her first kill. She realized how much control she had over him in his mentally weakened state and used that to play God and decide he didn't get to live anymore.
So the pattern of suicidal behavior before is what exactly? His father abused him. Hes taking drugs not designed for teenagers. All physical effects on his person but we focused on another teenage thats also a victim of the same drugs. The real villains here is Roys father, the pharmaceutical companies, and finally the soulless state that tried to use this case to empower themselves even more.
Whoever did the casting though did really well. Every actor favors the person they are protraying already, before make up and costume. Hulu did really well telling this story and others recently.
I live in the next town over from Fairhaven close to Mattapoisett and grew up in the area. I frequently visited the Kmart where Conrad took his life in the parking lot. It’s so weird when a local story becomes international and they make shows about it.
It really annoys me when people get mad at media for not portraying her as a soul eater or Disney villain. It helps nothing to dramatize media to the point of myth. The hard truth is she's just a teenage girl that's very very sick. It's VITAL we show that or the next person like her will be overlooked by people looking for thunder clouds and evil theme music.
Maybe that's because people like this are so often romanticized in media. If she is sick, and doesn't try or want to get help. She deserves no sympathy.
I have no issue with them adding depth to people. I don’t think peoples personality is defined by the worst thing they do but the fact that they try to victimize her and further more try to justify what she did is so fucked up. His life mattered. Edit: think if they tried doing the same with Elliot roger.
@@mewaw-mp5ht Life is long and human beings are complicated. Her brain was nowhere near done developing. She has plenty of time to get the help she needs and move on from this. It is truly awful what she did but it’s not all she’ll ever be.
@@arianna5270 someone’s brain not being done developing isn’t an excuse to do something this heinous. When your mental illness starts effecting other people negatively and you don’t do anything about it you cant just use it as an excuse. She showed no remorse, hasn’t said anything about even trying to get help, so no. Until she shows otherwise I don’t think she deserves that sympathy.
You guys should watch the actual documentary on this case, I originally hated Michelle but after watching it I genuinely felt bad. He literally was mind fucking her the entire time, soooo many times he acted like he killed himself and she would literally be shattered and broken until days/weeks later when he’d “randomly” text her phone saying he couldn’t go through with it AFTER letting her believe he was dead. Seeing her call and text frantically, all while ignoring her like it was no big deal. After so many situations of thinking he “killed himself” and him encouraging her to be his “Juliet” she thought encouraging him WAS A GOOD THING. She truly felt like she was helping him , because it’s all he talked about. He literally told her THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD EVER SAY OR DO THAT WOULD MAKE HIM WANT TO LIVE. On top of that she had her own mental health issues which I believe he took advantage of. He knew how lonely she was, he knew how desperate she was to keep him around or just to have a “friend”. He gave her a lot of BAD attention, that she really couldn’t see as a bad. Both of em were fucked up and in really bad mental spaces. It was a toxic relationship from the beginning. Like what real “boyfriend” encourages their underage girlfriend to pull a “Romeo & Juliet” move?? Like come on he wasn’t a saint, just someone who unfortunately couldn’t see a brighter day. He was gonna commit suicide whether he was dating Michelle or not, if you watch his videos or go through the text in the court documents you’d see he had that plan made up LONGGGG before he met her. 🤷🏽♀️
so you think her encouraging him is a good thing. you think bc she wanted attention so bad to the point where she starts pretending she’s in glee and has him kill himself a year on the exact same day as cory monteith all bc she wanted the best for him? yeah maybe in the beginning it was to help him but when she starts weighing the pros and cons she saw how she could greatly benefit and decided to push him to it. she may not be completely evil but do not paint her as a victim. she knew exactly wtf she was doing and let’s not pretend she couldn’t have just broken up w him or told his parents.
They rarely saw each other & it's a stretch to describe them as having been a couple. If she disliked him that much, why didn't she break contact with him instead?
Craziest thing is: if she kept her distance and said nothing, no one would have likely every known… I’m so thankful for my partner and his support, I couldn’t imagine someone pressuring me to unalive myself in my darkest/saddest moments… I wish someone could’ve helped this kid
I started episode 1 last night and woke up to watch episode 2 now. I was aware of the case and most of the info thru media I paid attention to in the first few weeks of the case. After that I lost interest. I never found out if she went to jail or prison and I also had no knowledge of whom the actual people involved in this case were... including the victim 😕🤨🧐. With that said, I am getting a better understanding of the events from a non-bias perception and it's all thx to this well made series.
I actually live in the town that Conrad Roy lived in. I remember my mom being very sad that day and I couldn’t understand why because I was around 6 or 7. But now I really see what a tragedy this is.
When you love someone, if they struggle with mental health issues, you do not constantly tell them to commit suicide & call them a coward because they've tried & "failed" before. That is a whole different type of disgusting.
Except they were together for years before this and she DID talk him out of suicide and emotionally supported him for years while she was severely mentally ill herself . She was also on a cocktail of psych meds that altered her brain chemistry and changed her personality, which is something no one has control over . Not defending her actions , but the media paints her out to be this soulless evil monster when she had issues as well . I’m sure if she would’ve gotte the help she needed none of this wouldnt have happened
Has anyone else noticed Conrad's parents? His father seems to be in a perpetual hunched position, like the world has become too heavy to bear (which I'm sure it has) and his Mother looks numb and void.. No matter what ACTUALLY happened here, you can tell that it has been earth-shattering to his family.. Mistakes were made all over the place in this case.. And it's so SO sad 😣💔
Remember this story very well. Living in New Bedford is only a few miles from where he killed himself in Fairhaven, Ma. Needless to say both of these young people had huge problems and they needed help.
I haven’t watched this yet…but I want to add some nuance to this situation. After listening to a podcast episode about this case, I think it was Crimes of Passion, I looked at her a little differently. They had a very unhealthy attachment to each other. Trauma bonding if you will. She was so mentally I’ll that it’s kind of impossible for me to crucify her at such a young age. He wasn’t very nice to her either. It was just an awful, destructive and emotionally draining “friendship.” In hindsight after learning more about him, he would’ve done this without her. I wish they would’ve both gotten the help they so desperately needed.
This is a tragic story by all means, but in the girls defense as a father if I found out my daughter had been terrorized for 2 years with a kid threatening his own suicide, his ass would have been kicked long before he had a chance to kill herself his parents would have been notified, and this wouldn't have happened. I think it's funny how the parents are so quick to pass blame on this young girl, but he pretty much killed himself because of them and their lack of love for him.
7 years ago my roommate said she felt like hurting herself. So we went to the hospital. I promised I wouldn't tell her parents until she was ready. Instead she told my mom. Before we left the hospital she texted her mom. They met us at our place and we all dropped her off at a crises center. It was a whole ordeal. I'm happy to say, I was just chatting with her because she made it through that tough time. It doesn't take a special person to help, you just need to not be evil.
Interesting finding out she had an ED. Some of that weird support into destruction happens in pro-ana communities. Really kind of reframes some of her texts. Not trying to diminish her responsibility at all but really is enlightening.
Having gone through something similar to this resulting in me overdosing twice and trying co2 posioning among other things, I think it should be said that this is a much more normal behavior among women these days then you'd like to believe.
SKYND led me hear Hearing the song Michelle Carter then watching this , documentary, and or TV series gave me even more chills The finale of the show was amazing how she tried to take it back screaming at Conrad when he got out but couldn't hear anything was so chilling and well done, you kinda felt bad for Michelle that she did it, kudos to the acting Made you feel her pain Yes it was horrible that he left our world from this But we all all human we all make mistakes and grow from them There are far worse things people have done than this
This case has bothered me since I heard it. I can't help but wonder what Conrad would have gone on to do with his life if instead of meeting a girl that was struggling with her own mental health that he met a girl that was supportive and encouraging. He seemed like he had a lot going for him, was intelligent, and self aware of what he was struggling with. This is just so tragic that since I first heard the story I never forgot it and if I ever speak to anyone online that seems to be struggling I do my best to person of light and try my best to guide them to help.
Yes I'm going to watch it. I have a totally different view on this case since the beginning. What everyone fails to realize is, Conrad was just assaulted by his father, his parents were fighting daily about them cheating on each other and Conrad couldn't take it anymore. Whether Michelle sent those texts or not, he wanted to die. I know that he wouldn't have wanted her to go to prison for being the only person he felt cared about him. As warped as that sounds, that's the truth. They were both mentally unstable. I'm not saying Michelle was right because she wasn't but I don't think just words can cause someone to unalive themselves. His parents need to accept their role in why he was so far over the edge. It's not like he lived in drama with Michelle but he did live in daily drama with his parents. Get the whole story, not just the parts that you want to believe. His parents were awful to him, his sisters and to each other. He wanted out, not to put his friend in prison. Nobody thought about that tho. Just how evil a mentally unstable 17 year old was.
What?! Words can cause many ppl to "Unalive " themselves, especially when you're young and mentally ill. Yes his family played a part in why he was so unhappy but to be encouraged to something so horrible is not acceptable. She could have encouraged him to stand up to his family or even run away together someplace. Overtime she wasn't just encouraging him to end his misery, she began to bully him into it. She is also mentally ill. This whole thing is horrible no matter how you look at it.
Facts!!! Everyone is at fault, even Conrad. The parents weren’t good parents, the girlfriend didn’t care about him, only herself and Conrad allowed his evil thoughts to control him and he gave him. Michelle ( or what ever the real girl name is) and the parents are morally wrong, but by law, they are innocent .
I feel so bad for that girl ....she was just a teenager with her own mental issues, the parents knew he had mental issues why would you go to sleep when you have a mentally disturbed son out there. That girl was tired, tired she just needed the problem to go away
I have been hooked on this case forever!! omg I didn't know they were making a show! oh I have such different outlooks etc, but honestly still look at her more as a villain than innocent etc. I recently got sucked back into this case last year after listening to the band SKYND song called Michelle Carter (so good!) and very changing law-wise outlook and perspective. times & laws have to change along with technology and new eras in general etc.
I remember this case It's how on the time everybody has talking about how sensitive is the messages we sent to another, how we need to be careful with the other mental state And now we have cancel culture, literally online hassament
Never let a women make you feel small never let her make you feel that your life is meaningless.. men have the highest suicide rates in the world.. the weight that comes with being a man can sometimes become overwhelming.. if you ever feel like your life doesn’t matter please seek help.. as a man who has been through depression and anxiety I know how it feels.. once you dig deep and start your healing process I promise you things will get better over time
Never let anyone make you feel small, not only women. Men have high suicide rate because they are taught to surpress emotions, not because they have a harder life. People have a hard life.
I know I won't be able to watch it - the case made me sick when it was first happening and even with Elle Fanning always being a standout, I just don't think I could stomach it.
She wanted to live like Leah Michelle and it's disturbing...She wanted to have that deep love from beyond the grave type thing so badly that she forced him to kill himself for her own fantasy world. Difference is Michelle is that Leah WANTED her boyfriend to LIVE.
Huh.... I didn't remember this story that well before watching this video but I could've swore she had to serve longer than 2 years. To be reminded that it was still just boggles my mind.
Omg how can you do something like this and not feel any guilt or emotions! Ik the guilt would eat me alive and drive me crazy. My ex bf was going through some hard times and when he said he was feeling like ending it all. I called his parents and 911 he got the help he needed and we broke up because of personal reasons.
Michelle killed him for nothing, that poor boy needed someone to talk to and she used that against him and tried to manipulate her friends when they cut her off for a good reason cause she was needy and desperate for friends, she thought she was gonna get away with it in reality she is so narcissistic and evil. To me Michelle never cared for Conrad at all, she thought she was gonna get away with everything and did she really think that deleting her text messages will save her, cause she’s plan dumb thinking they wouldn’t check his phone.
@@itsnyiaa_2737 she tried helping him countless of time. He continuously ran the suicide card and was emotionally and verbally abusive to her until she decided to help him in a different way. She didn't force him, he made his own choice.
This story was particularly sickening because alot of people responded to this news that goading him into isn't a crime because he made his own choice. 🤢
I think the girl from plainville did a good job of showing two side. You have to commend the investigator for pursuing the case. I believe that all suicides should be looked into. I also feel for the young girl she will have to live with this for the rest of her life. I think she did love him and just didnt know what to do she was going to lose him either way. I also believe she believed she was in an episode of glee. With the mental illness she was living with.
i lived towns away from both of them. I worked at the Kmart and worked the night when he took his life. That girl is monster and is not sick. She was a mean heartless individual who killed that poor boy. He needed help. If only she called for help, he'd still be live. SICK
I hope that line where the lawyer mentions assisted suicide is legal came from the script and not the actual lawyers. It is legal for a licensed professional, not some teenager.
The butterfly effect... how just meeting a girl changed his life into a horrible toxic and deadly direction... what if he had not met her that day ...what if he slept in and never went out that day... what if he didn't go to the Florida vacation...
He already wanted to commit suicide when he met her, that was apart of why they connected so quickly. She thought she could talk him out of it in the beginning, until he kept telling her he was going to do it regardless & nothing she said would change his mind. He already had 2 two attempts under his belt before ever meeting her…so let’s just imagine if he would’ve ✨gotten help✨. I’m a suicide survivor myself and I’ve learned ACCOUNTABILITY is everything, we cannot blame others for the energy WE PUT OUT. He put that energy out into the world, he wanted her to be his “Juliet”, he made those attempts on his own BEFORE KNOWING HER…even in the truck he could’ve stopped, but he kept texting her even after claiming he was “scared” to do it. He didn’t have to do anything, someone over the phone doesn’t control your life. If you respond to me with “kill yourself” and I do it…how is that your fault? I’m the one in control of what I’m doing, NOT YOU. She’s not the one to blame for his actions. If he wanted to live, he would have. Unfortunately he made his choice.
Ive been watching this an it's messing with my head. My husband has bipolar disorder, and there is no way in hell I would ever encourage this shit. When you're someone's only outlet, yes, its so exhausting and scary and alot of pressure. 14 years. It took us 14 years to get help. And yes. It effed me up, but when you love, LOVE them, you do EVERYTHING to help them. To get them help. You cant force anyone to get help, but when youre with someone, you take it upon yourself to put their well-being ahead. Naybe she thought he wouldn't actually do it. That that situation would make him realize its not what he really wanted. She didn't want to see him suffering. But she should have gotten him help. Called police ince she knew he was in the car and let them intervene and FORCE him to get the appropriate, adequate care. The teenage brain is beyond scary. This girl needed help just as badly as he did. Its all just beyond awful. And that poor boy needed help. He wouldnt have followed through with it had he ever met her. She's insane.
Wonder if she ever had someone show her how to do her brows properly at her age. My mom paid for me to get my brows waxed growing up - wasn't until my 20s when I figured out how to do them. That self tanner job is pretty bad though. Looks like she didn't exfoliate first and that's just common sense to have a smooth canvas before you add color.
This is sick , a black person could get 10+ years for weed a couple years ago & this skinny little white thing gets to walk free after she BASICALLY COMITTTED MURDER is fucking insane to me. I can’t believe people believe in her innocence
Defense made two mistakes, asked for a trial by judge and didn't let Carter take the stand and give context to the texts, give contexts to their relationship that because people didn't know about it is apparently reason to talk down about it... Anyway her side to a jury and different outcome.
I'd like to grab the judge, the jury, the parents, the police and the prosecutors, hook them up to a lie detector and ask them one simple question: "If the boy was named Leroy Jackson and not Conrad Roy III, would Michelle have ever been arrested...let alone convicted?

As a friend to someone I love, I would be turning the earth upside down to help them, to prevent them
from destroying their life and the lives of the people that love them.

But her duty was more sadistic she was wanting to take the whole family's grief and insert herself into the boy's family. While she was building herself to be this martyr saint suport suprr hero desperate for fuk up attention.

I live 2 towns away from this and she is a freaking monster. What's really sad about all of this is that kids don't think about the consequences
I was living in France when the story came out years ago ! It’s a classic example of evilness+selfishness at its peak
Cheers from San Diego California
This case is absolutely mortifying.
Elle Fanning did such a great job
So basically the show is spot on
SKYND led me hear
Hearing the song Michelle Carter then watching this , documentary, and or TV series gave me even more chills
The finale of the show was amazing how she tried to take it back screaming at Conrad when he got out but couldn't hear anything was so chilling and well done, you kinda felt bad for Michelle that she did it, kudos to the acting
Made you feel her pain
Yes it was horrible that he left our world from this
But we all all human we all make mistakes and grow from them
There are far worse things people have done than this
The HBO documentary is by far the best resource for this
This case has bothered me since I heard it.
I remember seeing and reading about parts of this case!
I remember starting my first year of college when this happened. It was all over the news.
She told him to get back in the car though
@@dewdrop5552 And he chose to get back in. Michelle didn't force him. No words could've stopped him from taking his life.
The show is great. Hulu has been on point with these true to life shows. The Dropout is good too.
I been knew about this girl but I never thought they would have made a movie about her
This and that other show The Thing About Pam. Honestly mind blowing! So crazy it’s hard to believe it’s actual fact!
I remember this case
It's how on the time everybody has talking about how sensitive is the messages we sent to another, how we need to be careful with the other mental state
And now we have cancel culture, literally online hassament
I'm amazed at physical similarities of the portrayal of Michelle Carter.
I wish elle fanning would of rocked her infamous eye brows that shocked the world.
Exactly. That’s the only thing that was missing
The human mind has the power to make you or break you and you can’t assume that everyone in the world is thinking “logically” or “Normally”
Except for that she technically didn't kill him that makes a huge difference law-wise
She didn't kill him...
@@luxlisbon7054 but she was literally telling him to do it over and over that’s fucked up she never loved that boy you should’ve got him help
@@luxlisbon7054 but she told him to do it over and over again, instead of reaching out to him and trying to get him help.
SICK
Right Madddi
His aunt: "so..... good luck with that." Ouch!!!!
I hope that line where the lawyer mentions assisted suicide is legal came from the script and not the actual lawyers.
It is legal for a licensed professional, not some teenager.
"why'd you kill em?"
"Well they said they were having a bad day, after all assisted suicide is legal"
"Ok. Sounds reasonable. La la la"
😒 WTF
It's not legal on our state at all I don't why people keep saying that on here
I remember this case. I was so disturbed when i heart the whole story. I still dont know what to say. Gonna watch the show when i have Hulu
He could of been treated and given DIFFERENT better medication. And a good therapist. I'm a nurse
He could of been cured ABSOLUTELY no doubt.
I’m watching it . There is only 3 episodes so far and it’s pretty good!
omg the actors look so much like the real people
She should have gotten life for those eyebrows and tan alone
Oh my god!!!
@Don K The eyebrows and tan were clearly a choice. Her hairline isn't so we don't make fun of those things. No matter how evil she is.
@@EvanRockwell1 aww ): !!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️this omg it somewhat makes sense for everything in general.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so i wasnt expecting that Cory Monteith part, it was kind of a trigger, i loved him, my teenage years were pure glee obsession
Every parent should watch this movie.
I want to see this! It's an interesting tragic story and it has one of my favorite actresses in it
Please make a new playlist about these true crime
Michelle really looked like Cara Delevingne
That's what i thought!
