This process occurs by bringing together two chemicals, potassium cyanide (KCN) and water peroxide (H2O2), which react together producing a small chemical reaction, hence the name "booming. "Potassium cyanide acts on the metal surface oxidation by removing from it a small amount of metals present in the alloy, which subsequently will be recovered. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has also the function to neutralize potassium cyanide. The machine has been studied in any detail to allow for complete safety and protection of the user.
