i seriously keep forgetting that bomb rush cyberfunk came out. it just somehow feels _too good_ to be a real thing that could actually release, like you'd see this in an e3 or spaceworld a few times and then watch it get delayed twice and cancelled it's absolutely beautiful i love it
as someone who has also been following this development since the first announcement, it’s surreal. i’ve already put like 40 hours into the game riding around. it takes me back to being a kid, not having to care about any story or quests, just skatin around when i’m bored. it’s so well made and expands on literally everything that jet set radio future did good. one of my favorite releases in the last decade. i’m almost tempted to say i love it more than elden ring, which i put about 700 hours into 😅
I remember when this game came out. Felt like yesterday when I played it. Seriously, nostalgia is hitting real hard rn. Thanks for the memories Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.
Aw man so glad we finally got a sequel to JSRF! I mean, it's 2005 so the XBOX is kinda old now, but better late than never! It's a great way to end the original XBOX run before we switch to the new next-gen console. I wonder when they'll make a Jet Set Radio for the 360? Prolly in like, 2009 right?
I 100% this game yesterday and this is exactly how it felt, but I don't think my stupid kid brain would be ready to comprehend the power of the chord progression going on here back then. I barely made it out alive after hearing sweet soul brother back in 2002.
I've played JSRF so much that BRCF only took about 20 mins to get used to. They did an absolute amaze balls job developing this and still making it stand out. I play this shit during work sometimes. It's that good. I also still own my 360 elite and JSRF/Sega GT 2002 hard copy.
I'm sure it looks way much better than what's shown here. I bought my first CRT (14" JVC w/750TVL) and I love playing and seeing how games made during the PS2 era and below looks on it, the scan lines and even better, NO motion blur and input lag compared to the HDTV or low input lag PC monitor! I'm looking into getting a downscaler soon (GBS-C) to do 240p with some of the later released game consoles (NGC, PS3, NSW and etc) but my CRT only takes S-Video (which surprisingly looks very good) and the downscaler and many others take component just like a good amount of CRT out there. So in the future (hopefully soon because of how pricey they're becoming) I see myself getting another CRT with RGB and 480p support (240p min of course). A 14" to 17" (or even 20") inch CRT seems like the perfect size to me since I have it on a nice desk and play very close to it. For next-gen games I only use a very low input lag and low motion blur PC monitor of 24" inch and don't plan on playing or going back to an HDTV unless it is for offline playing and OLED. I can't wait to try this on mine and some of the other NSW games and PS Vita. The art style of this game and the Japanese racing game Auto Modellista are forever timeless. 👍
Well it should be 480i if you wanted it to look like a bad vhs rip. You'd need proper component or RGB cables for 480p. And to everyone complaining about the audio: Some VCRs did support digital audio tracks.
I expected the game to either be broken, modded, have a glitched speed boost I saw just recently, or something spooky cause of the quality being old fashioned for the original jet set radio I’m assuming?
He made the max resolution for the video 480p so that it looks like an early 2000s game. I have Australian internet, so it took me a moment to understand what was happening too. This is what all videos look like for me. Lol.

agreed wholeheartedly. ive been following development since it was first announced in 2020
@@itscazsuyeah man, like, it's finally out... And it really delivers

Assaulting the npc at the end is obligatory
true
They should definitely add a retro filter for nostalgia

this dealt me psychic damage. thank you
This game feels like when a director leaves a game company and keep making sequels under a different name with a smaller studio
@@amyselthat's technically kinda the case with hideki just making music for this game after lethal league blaze

This game took everything that made jsrf great and made it even better
The 4:3 aspect ratio really ties this all together.
im crying, fuck me man, my childhood man. thanks. this actually looks super good, like cellshading/JSRF looks good in low pixel count. much love man.
More of these please!
im thinking about it, honestly. might be fun
A full game playthtough like this does sound fun
I've been playing so much this song somehow feels nostalgic already
I gotta get this on a actual CRT now
im definitely sitting too close to the screen for this one😂
Its perfect 👌

im in the exact same boat, ive got my old original xbox still with the sega gt combo disc
I feel like I turned into a kid during the 2000, cant wait for vacation so I can play BRC all day. Life became simple again.

This fucks soooo good
I hope Reptile'll add filters to the game
when multiplayer comes out, we need to have a song voting system just to vibe
done us all a great service

Best part of the song
Now it looks like it came out on February 22nd, 2002 as a Japanese release title.
ooh i have to do this on my crt
this game really needs a filter option just like puppetcombo games

But proper component cables can do 240p too, no?
@@sonyx5332 Yes, if the tv supports it. Most Dreamcast era games are 480p though, and so is this video
Might put one of my 5 crts to use and play it on one of them, thanks for the idea
oh id definitely do that if i had one lol
@@itscazsu I recommend getting one
Nice
Nice video!
Audio quality is WAY too high for 2000s era footage
Add just a tad bit of crt high pitch fuzz for peak experience 👌👌
Love this though, really!
I was a little worried about it in all honesty, but I'll definitely fix that if I ever record another one!
@@itscazsu Don't fret it too much
Enjoy the game my friend!
We only get stuff like this every 15 years haha

Gonna need a mod for this…
The audio isn't compressed enough and it needs a little bit of white static noise you can barely hear
Who else playing with the xbox 'duke' controller? You know i am 😤
This should be an option in the settings

More like a Microsoft XBOX.

BRC if it was released in 2013:
2013? Maybe 2003 but we all pretty much moved onto lcds by 2010, although CRTs were still made until 2015 I suppose
audio quality too good
did you use 640x480 or a custom res?
Jsrf 2
I don't understand this video :v this is how all of us play

Hey, I got a pretty good recreation of this effect in Reshade up and running. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/2i86B3ZRju0/w-d-xo.html
Could you make this into a mod?
check this youtube video, i made a reshade preset that looks similar th-cam.com/video/2i86B3ZRju0/w-d-xo.html
That's the shit
.... How else are you supposed to be playing?
its the only way i would play this game...the official game look too unfinished and scrappy for me 😢
No need for CRT filter, CRTs look better than that
FPS too high
Dislike not enough bug
