I've made one very similar to number 3 before, but I used a bit more onion and added a little bit of ground roasted cumin and probably a bit more lime - it was awesome. Now I'm going to have to try the other two - most likely the one with the avocado will be up next. Just found this channel not very long ago and I'm absolutely loving it
A teaspoon of vinegar along with lime will help it last longer, I like adding sea salt. Can you give a recipe for salsa de Tlaquepaque? And Gorditas de azucar. Y churros- I have antojos.
#3 for sure is my favorite way! I love to make huge batches (~30 tomatillos) of it and use it for enchiladas too! It’s even better if you roast it a bit over some fire. Oven works good too, but there’s something about the fire roasted that really brings it up a notch…
So much delicious salsa... how do you save it if you make a big batch but can't eat it all right away (no matter how much I want to!!) And yes , roasted is my fav❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@marynametka1588I put them in mason jars and freeze, leaving one in the fridge. Once the fridge one is running low I'll pull one out of the freezer and let it thaw in the fridge overnight.
I love and have so much respect for all you do! I just wanted to take this time and say Thank you! You have made a big difference in my kitchen with all your fun facts🙏🏻💫💝🕊️💫
Definitely have to try these! Also keep up the great work. Your energy snappy editing and concise wording makes your videos a joy to watch. Keep up the great work!
Not going to lie this is going to sound weird if you don’t know… add a bit of chicken buillon to the blender… like a teaspoon.. and your salsa is going to be magical.
I think this is my first time watching your long format and it might be my favorite way to watch you cook! :) I don't cook yet but when I start I'm going to try so many of your recipes!
My son could eat salsa verde on everything so making it at home is such a great thing! I do the charred kind because it is so yummy! And such a great way to get a lot of veggies into your diet!!!
I followed your recipe and made the second salsa verde here at home (but with red tomatoes instead, its hard to find tomatillos in brazil) and it tasted awesome, thanks for all your videos
I don't want to be this person , but alas. Tomatoes and tomatillos have different flavor profiles (although it's great to see you like the salsa!). Tomatillos are quite sour like limes but have a bit of a tomato taste...kinda.
One of my favorites has you frying the peppers and garlic in oil, then putting some of the oil into the blender along with some of that powdered chicken stock. It turns out creamy but with no avocado. Amazing on almost any taco.
I really enjoy your recipes, I grew up in Southern California and my adopted Tia taught me a lot!!! Watching you is like watching My Tio many many years ago. I sent you video to my adopted Tio, he Said how'd I do that? Do what I said put my younger self on You Tube? Lol he's quite a character.
My white ass has been making #3 from my homegrown tomatillos (and habaneros, serranos, thai hots, jalapenos, ghost peppers depending on how i'm feeling) for many years now. Only diff is that I get a bit more (to a lot more) char on the chiles. Finally started making my own corn tortillas this year too. Pairs wonderfully with my Instant Pot chile verde.
JOSE!!! Thanks to your video, I finally made my first batch of green salsa 🤩 I've been so intimidated to try to make some because I never thought I could make it as good as my Mexican mom. But lo and behold I did. Thank you!!
it’s typically recommended that if you roast some ingredients, you roast them all, i dunno why but my grandmas and moms and aunts have always said it, fresh veggies with fresh veggies, roasted with roasted. i’m sure you could try it and find out though!
Omg!! The first one you made I buy from local restaurant and I put it on everything!! I could never find a close recipe. I’m very excited to try this. Ty!!
One of my favorite restaurants has a delicious salsa verde and I asked them once what was in it, and they gave the exact ingredients you just did. It's interesting that you didn't put avocado in the last two. Why is that? Would it work in the cooked ones?
I love cilantro I eat it on everything when it’s in season, I was grown before I found out cilantro turns into coriander if left alone for long enough 😂💕
Hey Jose! In germany, I dont really have access to fresh tomatillos, what would you change about these recipes (if they are even possible) if you only have canned tomatillos?
The third one is my favorite. It's so vibrant and fresh with that smokey charm. All I need is fresh nachos and steak corn on the cob wouldn't hurt nothing at all.😅
Also, guys, Tomatillo verde can mess up your salsa if you boil it pass his "limit", it can actually give a sour (In a really bad way) taste to your salsa, 12 min to 15 is a little to much, cook it from 5 to 7, they have to change color, when all of them change color, remove them
tomatillos is hard to get in Denmark but I love them, so im gonna try to grow them my self.... wish me luck
Good luck!

Love your stuff brother! I put on your videos while I'm cooking food and it reminds me of the times where I talked with my siblings on the phone.
Aw that's awesome. Love to have you here+
Roasted is the only way I do it because it has the most flavor IMO.
Very true, it's my favorite one
Yesssirrrr. I put everything in the broiler. Sooooo much better.

Thanks Jose! Your videos are always refreshing and right on! Love your rumor! Keep on smiling and cooking!
Watched this morning. Bought, roasted and blended. Done! ❤
Thank you! I love the recipes!! I usually just make it the first way you made it. Appreciate you!! I like them all but I will try the last method. 😊

This is my new favorite cooking channel!!!

💯 I was going to say instead of water chicken stock or bouillon 👍
I wandered, thanks for that tip
👍😃
Number #3 is my favorite like you said has that chard flavor which is delicious and unique
I'm w/you Jose on 3. That roasted thing I think brings more flavor. Cilantro is soooo good.
Blessings Always
0:59 you can also remove the ribs and seeds from the peppers to reduce the spiciness
Good tip for milder flavor
Always a pleasure to watch you cook!
I agree on the roasted one, but add the avocado. 😋
@@Sherry-iv6yh yes I tried that and it's delicious I love his TH-cam channel Im A fan
That’s what I was thinking, going to try

Btw, numero 1 is the best imho
Never been this new on a vid before. Love you! (Also, hope you sleep well after this crazy editing to posting vibe)
It’s midnight and I’m drooling awake 🤤
My mouth is watering while watching 😋😛
I cook mine on a cast iron on the stove. Gives a little extra charred flavor. Charring the components directly on a grill is also a big win.
I love watching these.. my comfort..
Thank you so much
Roasted Salsa Verde.....WINNER! It's amazing!!!
Always a good day when the El Cook uploads

oh, i'm going to try the roasted version! i've never done that before, i usually just boil the tomatillos.
Gives it a beautiful flavor
I make number 3! So good!
1, 2 and 3!!!!! they are all amazing!!!! thank you for your cook passion
And thank you for watching
I like the long format videos the most! ♥
I LOVE these recipes! I think number one is calling my name!!
Damn these are good recipes! My mom taught me a certain way but I’m gonna try these 3 and see what I love the most
Thank you for including the recipe on the description and not sending us on an endless link chase!

I usually make #3 but #1 sparks my interest…
I’ll be trying that way soon 😋
I love the roasted. I put the garlic in there raw tho cuz I'm a maniac for that garlic. Wondering if making a charred cremosa would be ok ..
#3 for sure!😁
Delicious! My fav is the 3 rd one also. I hadn’t seen the raw one though. Going to try it. Gracias!
Roasting the vegetables definitely makes the difference!
Brotha why you making me hungry at almost midnight 😭
Yummy! I really love your channel Jose. Wishing you much abundance and wellness.
Thank you. I've been making salsa regularly, but always with the same recipe. You inspired me to try something new!
I love the roasted version of this recipe, thank you for posting this video I appreciate you for that! Peace. ☮

I have tomatillos. Jalapenos. Tomatoes. Poblanos and cilantro in my garden. Ty for these.
Roast all of them and it will make all those flavors just come alive, ahhhh! I love the smokiness that the roasted poblano gives my salsa verde✅💚
I’ve only made it the 3rd way before I saw this video but I add the avocado. I love it! Never had salsa verde taste so good!
Thank you 🙏🏼❤️😋🤤

#2, but #3 has a wonderful roasted flavor. Love your videos and recipes. Keep cooking brother.

I like # 3 the roasted salsa Verde delicious!
Could you do the charred salsa then add avocado to make it creamy? I think it would be good to have that flavor but with the creaminess.

Yes that would definitely be an improvement.. im gonna try that.. thank you..
Looks good!!
I would probably combine the third one with the first. Roast veggies then add the fresh avocado to the blender at the end
Good combo
Just discovered this channel 👍 enjoying it Jose, gracias
#3 and going to add avocado ♥️

Thank you for making this videp! I have been looking for the recipe with the avacado in it.
3 is my favorite.
I love 3! There's no comparison in the flavor when you roast those yummies first. Worth the extra step in my book! 😋
Can you teach us how to make Carnitas??
Hey Jose! In germany, I dont really have access to fresh tomatillos, what would you change about these recipes (if they are even possible) if you only have canned tomatillos?
I would just strain and rinse them, then dry them off before charring in the oven. If they're pre diced, then just strain about halfway then use them
The uncooked salsa verde with avocado is my ultimate favorite I can never find it anywhere
Definitely number 3!
Great choice!
