Cold Wave is such a underrated spell card. It's amazing a tech card and highly slept on in goat format. For Traps I will say compulse or mind crush because they are to me epic trap cards in main or side.
I remember back in the mid-2000's there was a brief period on Pojo when Wave Control was extremely popular. It's main weakness, however, was it's inconsistency.
Problem with it at this point in the game is you NEED to be in a good position to confidently use it and special summons are not as crazy as in edison plus it locks you out of using your own powerful Spells and Traps in a format where you can use Pot, Graceful, Duo, etc. Giant Trundnade is the better optyof the two at this time
@@TheGreatSalsaMan However, in most cases cold wave is a card that isn't used in most of the decks because it affects their core plays. Cold wave is a great side card imo but, with monarchs this card was a must play and it won me alot of matches when playing monarch locking out decks from spell and traps for a single turn or two as vital. The monarch deck was great as well because metamorphosis could let go into negate fusions that would help go into the long game.
Bait Doll and Pixie Knight made a neat combo. Run Trinity as your only other spells besides bait Doll so your opponent has to put a broken spell on top of your deck since bait Doll doesn't hit the GY upon resolution
Pixie knight has to die by battle. Set it and its nobleman bait. Summon it and its control card bait. Attack with it and it’s ring/Sakuretsu/mirror bait. All that PLUS only running a deck with 6 spell cards?? Better hope you get one of the trinity in your opening hand…None of that set up is worth a free spell next turn when DMOC gets you a free spell card on summon and faith on flip…
Most of these cards could use testing! Designator seems promising and My Body has been in/out of the meta; look at Zoodiacs. You say Vortex is bad because discard, but same can be applied to Raigeki Break/Wing too. Just a thought.
Only because the goat format is at a point where your cards need to be reactive preferably on either turn. Rai and Wing are traps but LV is a normal spell
There's a few spells I've considered but haven't played; Enemy Controller, Prohibition, Ante, Autonomous Action Unit. As for traps; Needle Ceiling, Fiend Comedian, Acid Trap Hole, Trap Hole, Rivalry of Warlords, Blast With Chain
@@GoatFormat so here my spice, i play jinzo. My opponent always figures im searching bls and they never sweat ddc becuase they can just kill bls with there backrow. Well then i drop jinzo and unless they have snatch steal its game. That combo of ddc and jinzo has won me soooo many games on dueling book. Edit: just wanted to add that warriors play alot of high stat* monster that tend to stick on tje field so getting jinzo out is pretty easy.
@@SomeoneNamedMark Jinzo in warriors is so confusing. Do you not run traps? No solemn? No Dustshoot? Saku? I feel like Jinzo is really counterintuitive to warriors, but maybe you run some kind of different warrior tech than what I’m used to seeing?
@@TheOldSchoolExpert I play a heavy trap lineup just like a typical warrior deck (no dust shoots.) Yes jinzo shuts off your traps too but it doesnt change the fact that your opponent needs to out the jinzo which if they do, turns your traps back on. Its also a matter of knowing when to drop him on board. Im no pro by any means but ive had a ton of success at locals and dueling book with the deck and specificly thr ddc and jinzo combo. Doesnt hurt to give it a try.
@@SomeoneNamedMark that’s awesome man. I never would have assumed it would work in warriors. Would love to play against that deck some time and see it in action!
Share the pain is neat but it is basically just a worse version of creature swap. You activate it when you both have a monster but yours is weaker than the opponent’s so it’s worth it. In that scenario you’d rather just swap them
Bait doll is awesome. I used to run it in my fun deck when LON came out. Thoughts on Nobleman of Extermination in aggro decks that want backrow hate but don’t want to wait to set for dust tornado?
it was played for a time but the issue it has is how chainable everything is now adays is hard to find value and if you hit the saku mirror tt etc you are losing your own copies and thats a feel bad man sometimes
@@GoatFormat yeah I’ve seen it in warriors but nothing else. Personally I don’t mind my opponent chaining and getting off their trap because it’s like a 90% chance it’ll be a sub-optimal play and often forces them to make a play at a time where they normally wouldn’t. There’s value in that, I think.
I use lightning vortex the main deck for most of my decks. It's a great card to get rid of your opponent's goats or field, and is a great backup if you lose your virus monster card. Creature swap is a card I have seen most decks use. It's definitely at a staple status imo, but still a good card. I think I found one deck that it doesn't work too well with but that can happen. I'm curious about trying share the pain, because I thought that this whole time it was banned. I can't see running more than two copies and probably not a main deck option, but I'm willing to try it. And bait doll I want to try because it was used on me and I am still salty about it.
Just my thoughts on Different Dimension Capsule(DDC). I think maybe if you know your opponent only have 3 back row popper like MST, Heavy Storm(HS) and Breaker..maybe you can run 2 DDC as a side deck option. Use one of your DDC to grab another DDC, maybe bait your opponent into using one of their 3 back row popper to pop on your DDC. If they pop they just wasted one out of their 3 back row popper on your worthless DDC. Now you only have to deal with their other 2 remaining popper AND not only that you also thinned your deck by -1. Or you can go with the "high risk high reward" with DDC. If they don't pop your DDC you get your other card or your other DDC.
if use DDC to grab upstart goblin and they destroy the DDC and its still a plus. you do what the upstart is designed to do by thinning your deck but now your opponent doesn't gain the 1000.
It baffles me to this day that Dimension Fusion isn't utilized more… maybe the life point cost or set up for the spell is just too steep / cumbersome. Paying 2000 vs pay half (with Return from the Different Dimension) can make a huge difference, since one can always do the latter. The pay 2000 might be impossible late game, so the Dimension Fusions become bricks. Another point is that Dimension Fusion lets both players special summon and since Chaos is everywhere these days it necessitates a combo play with e.g. Tribe Infecting Virus or Lightning Vortex to get through after resolving the card. Also, what about "Back to Square One"? Heard some people been testing that? haha
The goat meta is just weird rn. My Chaos DF deck kept losing to current builds some of which that weren’t even chaos because those decks have reactive b!tch cards like Book, compulse, enemy controler, jar of greed, etc. so its harder to plus and go for game so the meta has shifted in another direction.
I hadn’t thought about it like this, but you may be right - it could be slightly more usable than Swords. It’s biggest weakness is that it’s bait for being destroyed, but so is Swords.
My Body as a Shield is actually _insanely_ good if not for the life cost. You can over extend all you want.
There was a yugioh simulator back in the day, around mid 2000s, I forgot the name but I remember bait doll was actually played quite a bit.
Amazoness Chain master is great in edison format for me. I bet it's alright in goat too.
I got some video ideas for you JDZ!
-Floodgate Tier List.
-Top 5-7-10 Neg1 cards
Yoooo you might have to be a producer at this point lol Ill have to make these happen

Definitely Desert Sunlight on the traps list. Better than Ceasefire in burn and could tech’d into chaos. It’s like a reverse Book of Moon.
ooooh you might be reading my mind there Evan!
I might add Goat Control too if they’re playing Morphing or Cyber already. I can’t remember how many times I’ve countered BoM on TER with Sunlight.
