- I recently bought a 40 acre property near Ocala and will be moving up to start a new sanctuary there! So what will happen to all the gators I’ve been working with in South Florida, will I be able to take any of them with me?  Watch and find out! This is filmed at Everglades outpost with Casper the alligator, who I run my underwater Gator Tour ‘s with, come join a tour with us!

It brings me deep joy to know that 40 acres of gorgeous land will be dedicated to animal rescue and wildlife conservation. Thank you so much. I'm not particularly excitable, but I'm already giddy to see the sanctuary as you grow it. You are appreciated DEEPLY by so many of us who aren't dedicating their lives to saving animals yet still want the best for them & also wish to learn about them so that we ourselves can do better on behalf of both domestic and wild animals. I'd like to think the reason there haven't been a greater proportion of positive comments is that it's so obviously amazing to most people that they don't feel the need to say it. 😄 I'm glad you made this video. You communicated the message very clearly (as usual) so I hope it's more positive and good vibes in the comments going forward!

Some of the comments you’ve received are completely out of line and I’m so sorry for some people’s reactions. This is an incredibly exciting new step for you and Gabby and the vast, vast majority of us are SO excited to see you build your own sanctuary - and I can’t wait to discover the new alligators and crocs which will end up living there!

I don’t see it as abandoning I see this as an opportunity to save other alligators. Casper and Co are in good care, the alligators coming to your sanctuary will also be in good care. This is a win in my book.

That's amazing that crocs and alligators will remember someone after not seeing them for a significant time. I suppose it's not surprising in a way, given that other animals will remember people too, but it's not something I had ever considered. I wonder what it is that they recognise - site, voice or smell. Maybe it's all three 🤔. Casper is a cool alligator and actually relaxing to watch as he floats about. Sorry you won't be seeing as much of each other but I hope things go well with your move and your future endeavours 😊

Wow Chris, I can't believe you OWN and RUN two entire parks and care for ALL the animals ALL BY YOURSELF! (/sarcasm) I think some people must not pay attention to your videos (or ever read the captions!). I for one am THRILLED Chris for You and Gabby🤗 People lots, don't like change. And even though you won't be at the parks on a regular basis you just said you STILL would like to come back a couple times a month. I know because you have mentioned it countless times These gaters and crocs have no emotional connection with you, as you do with them. They would have not a moment's hesitation of biting you if you did something out of line. I hope the hate stops for you. People have nothing better to do than to be bitter and talk trash about people. Sir, you're doing a great thing and it will be awesome for you. You will never abandon the animals at your current sanctuary and people have no business saying that. I'm sure the new animals (gators, crocs, etc,...Will be just as awesome as Casper and the other ones you've been working with for 15 or 20 years. Best of luck to you and I'll be watching! If I could swim, I'd love to come and do a tour with the gators but as a paraplegic it's not possible. But again, congrats on your new adventure and can't wait to see new videos of the new place. 🐊

It’s so weird how people online who watch your videos believe that this gives them some kind of ownership of your life. Some believe that from watching your videos they now know the animals’ nature and needs better than you do. It’s really sort of nuts and quite rude. What can I say....haters are going to hate. I'm super happy for you! I grew up in the city, so when my husband and I bought 5 acres, I was sooo thrilled to finally be living out in the country. I can relate how excited you are. Lots of work ahead for you, but it will pay off in the long run. I used to watch some of the other gator handlers, but quit watching them because I didn't like the way a couple of them handled the gators. Maybe I'm wrong, but I felt the gators were being teased unnecessarily. I like the way you treat them with respect and talk to them as if they were human. I'm like that too with all animals. Also, I have learned a lot from you and will stay on your social media and keep learning. I've also been spreading the word about you on my FB page. Good luck to you and Gabby on your new venture! I think it’s great you are into your own place! Can’t people see that you having your own place means more animals will have a safe place to be, fewer animals euthanized! I learn so much watching videos! Thanks for what you do. We have such an amazing natural world that we need to conserve and care for and learning is the first step.
You did not receive a negative comment from me. I understood all the things you are speaking of before you needed to state it. The more gators, crocs, and other animals you can house in your new sanctuary, the better.

You have a great future though and near Ocala on wildwood there’s a gator farm for wayward gators of the villages where I live, and the area. Making your own park is a great idea! We appreciate your teaching! So many people from up north don’t know how to act or treat gators in FL and your positive influence is amazing! I am excited for you! 😃

It's your life man, you have to do what's best for you. I think it's great that you are going to have your own place and you'll be saving new animal's.
Happy for you and Gabi getting a new place . People actually get mad? I've tried to understand their perspective: I think they see your work with Casper as your life's work and think you are abandoning these animals in some way, probably because they think of Caper is a mammal with mammalian feelings, but as you've mentioned in another video , Gators don't get attached the way dogs and cats often do.
I think you are an amazing Individual. I wish more people would understand how precious animals are and that we should respect their territory. I would love for more people to be like you, with the dedication, and commitment you have to wildlife. I love animals, and I’ll say straight up, much more than people too. :-) I love that you are spreading your wings and opening up your own sanctuary. Some people are ok with staying where they are in life, and that’s fine but they should also respect others who want to grow and do more with their lives, especially someone who is compassionate to this planet and it’s inhabitants. I’m so happy to see your videos, they make me smile, and continue to stay positive because there are good people out there. God bless you❤️. The people giving you a hard time must not be actively involved in the wildlife rescue/rehab community... The animals in need are literally endless, and rehabbers are few, far between, under funded, and over taxed trying to help as many as they can. They each usually have a niche, be it song birds, seabirds, raptors, small mammals, predatory mammals, reptiles.... there is MORE than enough demand and space within the community for a new facility. In fact, I daresay the rehabbers and rescue workers who are already established, as well as their stoppers will ALL be elated to see you bring your dream to life - I know I am! Congrats on getting your own facility! I look forward to seeing all the good you do on your new venture.

First of all.....congrats on your new property and being able to open your own sanctuary. It sounds like a dream come true for you. Secondly, take what people say with a grain of salt. They don't know the circumstances and they don't have your personal dreams. There will be disgruntled people but there are thousands of others, like myself, who are happy for you and what you do to save and protect these animals. Why are people so invested in Chrises life…. The man wants better for him self natural of every human. Good work. Actually, the more rescue centers the better. I have been watching your videos for about a month and the fact that the animals are rescue - nuisance animals who would otherwise be killed - came through loud and clear. So, good luck and keep up the videos.
