This song is him at his loneliest. It has such a cold dark feeling. He was dealing with his addictions at a level he’d never experienced before, and he was alone at the top with seemingly no one to connect with regarding his responsibilities and anxieties. I see this song as him saying “fuck it all i’m done.” I cling to this song when i’m at my lowest, and i’m sure that’s where he was at when he created it. Rest In Peace.
