I have challenged myself to put away 50% of my monthly income into dividend stocks which is quite easy since I live frugal without debt. I work as an account executive, and make over $20000. $10000 goes into dividends, and the other $10000 covers my my food plus living expenses. I am seeing improvements in my portfolio, dividends look certain, but I have to attribute this to only to guidance of a licensed fund manager who allocates funds to a plethora of assets. Tell your husband you only want to rent the backyard for weddings. It's less time commitment than having someone camping in it, since it will only be a few hours for the event and a few more for set-up and clean-up. And it will only be on Fridays and Saturdays, leaving the backyard for y'all's use all the rest of the week.

Hello Ms. Odetta! Love your channel, it is very informational. I agree with your husband with regard to security. Perhaps there is a way to "block off" the portion of you backyard that faces the yard - a tall opaque curtain so that your home is not visible to the renter and also provide an outdoor bathroom so that the renter does not need to enter your home. I think your husband may just be looking for some kind of boundary between strangers and is family. Take care and best.

However, I agree with your husband. That may lead to a compromise of your privacy and security. It can also lead to your backyard especially the flowers, the lawn and other plants being damaged. ( and I know most women love their flowers). Your home is your personal space, your castle and a place where you can fully enjoy a peace of mind. Because some of the renters will not be coming to rent but to spy out all your security details. Dont trust anyone in this day and era.
