Hello, I just discovered your channel. I would like to set up an automatic trunk opening system on my Land Rover Discovery Sport. Have you done it before? If so, is it complicated?
@@gtaitsmylife1078 hi, thank you for watching and for your comment. This isn’t something I’ve looked into much to be honest, but I have seen the kits. Our one had this from factory, so I haven’t done much research on the kits. I wouldn’t think it would be that hard to be honest, I assume it would go into the boot release mechanism loom, as you’d want it to work off the button on the key remote. It is basically a wired in replacement for the gas strut, so it has to be reasonably simple. It’s a very expensive route to take though, I believe kits range from £300-£500. There is a cheap option where people use springs to make the boot pop open with the button, but the downside is that you have to manually close it, and you also have no control over stopping the opening at a set height.
