Wow this piece sounds unbelievable on a Bechstein. I always was of the opinion that the Bechsteins had a beautiful bell like tonality in the treble registers and a thunderous base (especially on a D282). The contrast between the treble and base that comes out in this duet is truly unbelievable! Absolutely gorgeous and really highlights the individual melodies. Execution of the performance was fantastic as well
Tease and denial are all you get in unrequited love. At least this suffering can bring extraordinary music like this to us by great composers like Schubert.
Start at 1:01. It is amazing how a big Boy Piano can sound so gentle and delicate. Of course, the bigger the instrument is, the more harmonics it can produce. So, even if the hammer barely touches the strings, you can achieve extreme dynamics as _PPP_ or even _PPPP_ and beyond. But this duality is still incredible: smashing the instrument with a top-level Orchestra in a top-level Concert Hall, or the intimate delicacy of my living room. And, the harmony and synchronization of _Frau_ Silver and _Herr_ Garburg are amazing. It sounds like only one person is playing.
Agree; in addition, I’d suggest there’s a little too much staccato and more than a little too much rubato - at least for my taste. (and those elaborately long pauses are just affectation).
Do we really deserve to listen to the god given composer who was suffering from the illness and knew he will die soon? Only his friends knew and appreciated genius of Herr Schubert while pampered Viennese high society was preoccupied with Beethoven and Rossini, but skipped over the greatest composer in history.
Merveilleux. Merci à vous chers Interprètes ❤❤❤

I just discovered this beautiful post. Thanks for sharing this wonder.
The gentle bass and prancing melody, such a cool duo!
Incredibly beautiful. Thank you for posting.
Life! Love in communication. Reminds me of David's psalm 23. 🔥🔥❤❤
20:00 is so sad
When Schubert dreams never becomes reality
Back to sadness
Greatest love , greatest sorrow😢

i'm sorry but I am from the old school and can't say I have too much love of facial hysterionics at the keyboard a la Brendel...

Tears.

右の女の人がハリキリすぎて、もはや、左の男の人が黒い服だし、背景にしか見えない。。。
I am sorry, this sounds like kitsch. The music itself is enough. Dont kill it in too much…..
Right part too loud, too much staccato, too much rubato, too much gestures,... too much.... More simplicity would be better
