    I graduated in 2015 from Colombia. Step 1 236, step 2 ck 252, already a urologist in Colombia. Any chances I can make it to a urology residency in the US?

      The most important thing in your case is to get strong LoRs from hands on US clinical experiences in urology. Although this may be difficult, it will greatly boost your chances. Your scores don't discount you from consideration.

    And what is your view with step 1 soon to be changed to pass/fail? What will decide imgs entry to competitive fields?

      USCE in specialties of interest with great US-based LoRs, strong Step 2CK, solid ERAS Application and Personal Statements, and networking when possible!

    Hey doctor
    I have a friend who failed step 1 twice but his planning on applying next year when step 1 is p/f will the multiple attempts affect him or if he has a good ck score is he good to go? Or he should just give up?

    • @matcharesident

      Programs will still see the number of attempts, even after the exam becomes P/F. Having a strong Step2CK score and USCE in the specialty can help overcome attempts =)

      Although getting USCE during the pandemic may be more difficult, some of these ideas will still apply: blog.matcharesident.com/find-us-clinical-experience/

    Step1 is p/f now, so score doesn't matter

    • @matcharesident
      @matcharesident  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not entirely true. The exam won't be P/F until late January 2022, and those who took the test before then will still have their scores reported numerically!

      @@matcharesident i mean after 8 months, step 1 will be a left hand job with no significance except p/f
