It Was not only a govt land, it was built on the Land that gazetted as Taman Negara. It was on Bohey Dulang Island, the touristic land and some even say the country most beautiful land. Just imagine if some illegals build a hut in front of Taman Negara Pahang entrance, will anyone accept it and say oh they are also human, let them live there, will us, and will you?

Its easy for you to criticise when its not your state. Land and people are always interconnected. You have to do what you have to to do. These people are doing their tasks that given to them. And those unfortunate will protests. When you bring this matter to court, those who have enough documentation will prevail. If they are Malaysian with strong documents support I cant see why this people not winning the case in court.

They are not malaysian and most are the Filipino origin.Malaysia had to protect its own interest and cannot let these people live unlawfully in our country otherwise Sabah will be swarmed by the bugis from Indonesia.There are already large population of Bugis ethnic of indonesian origin in sabah especially Tawau.

bajau laut live that area for thousands of years. they normally live a nomadic life travelling between Malaysia and Philippines. so instead of rejecting them as stateless and denying them of basic necessities, why not government grant them citizenship. they are not illegal migrants like rohinya, Bangladesh, Myanmar etc. Malaysia has too many stateless people roaming around and we cannot let this continue forever. one day our country can destabilize.
From what I know, they refuse Malaysian or any country citizenship because if they becomes Malaysian citizen or other country citizen, they cannot leave as a nomad life and freely enter countries water border without passport or documents.

Bajau Laut are indigenous people of the coastal region predominantly on the eastern part of Sabah. They live a nomadic sea life for thousand of years and consider the coastal part of Sabah, Sulu, Sulawesi and kalimantan as their home. By evicting them without proper planning in providing temporary shelters may cause more problem as they may live in shanty condition in urban coastal areas. Tourism is an important revenue for the state economy however, human values & care is an added plus for a good reputation worldwide.

@@pradipFRCS From what i know, this Bajau Laut are stateless. They refuse any country citizenship. Their children didnt go to school. They are under Unesco protection and supervision. They leave on the sea, they dont have land. They freely migrate from one country's border to another without any document and they go as far as Australia sea border.
For sure these people are not Malaysian and they have no right to take Malaysian land and build their home there.

First of all, they are not Malaysian citizen. The term 'Bajau Laut' used to identified them in this video is incorrect. The correct and actual term that should be used is Bangsa Palahu, believed originated from Palau Islands, located between Philipine and Indonesia. Even Bajau Laut term itself was never been used in Sabah history or even Brunei history that written hundreds of years ago. The term Bajau Laut only exist in west malaysian history and writings, and later generalised all that lives on the shore or depending on sea as Bajau Laut, whereas we sabahan, who know better about our land, history and peoples, will identified and called the exact ethnic based on their exact race. In Sabah Constitution, we have a list of 32 ethnics that are considered as 'anak negeri' or son of soil, and sorry to dissapoint you, that Bangsa Palahu or even Bajau Laut arent one of them.
Secondly, even they have lived nomadic on the sea for thousand of years, they were catagorised as 'stateless' by United Nation, not by Sabah govt or Malaysian Govt. No country reconised them as their citizen, not Philipine, not Indonesia, no one. We, 'inhumane' and 'brutal as Yahud' govt once offered them citizenship, in exchange they have to give up their nomadic lives, which are not longer suitable nowadays. We cant cross in and out of any country borders as they they did hundreds years ago. But only some accepted the offer, majority rejected, as they are not used to and feel 'land sick' if they stay on land. They still wanted to live freely and nomadic from a country to another, and the govt cant allowed them to do so.
Theres many incidents that the govt as arrested them for illegal entry on the border, but after certain time, our govt does not know the next action to do with them, where are they going to be deported as they are stateless. Eventualy our govt released them as it will only burden the govt fot the meals and detention center.
