To be honest, his performance throughout the set was not the best. But I'd still pick this over any Slaves concert nowadays. They sound so bland and generic now. Jonny's voice is one in a million. Hope he stays sober and gets the help he deserves.
@@dusted1337 yeah I agree with you there man.. it's 100% not his best.. They were very tight for a small amount of time, Shame that he wasn't enough for the band. Let's hope that he's got a lid on his usage, and also hope he gets sober for good this time...
Its not all about drugs use, singing live everynight really stress your voice. Is a mix of things, but i love the fact that he give his 100% in every live. Great ARTIST.

Man. Hes just so talented. I feel honestly like Jonny has completely changed my perspective on addiction really. Like yeah addiction is a really dumb choice that people choose to go to but at the same time alot of these addicts fell into these paths because they needed an escape and nothing else worked for them. I feel like at some point all of us have been desperate and in need of an escape. Jonny is lucky because even tho hes been in many bands and no longer stands in slaves, hes still famous enough to poor his heart out into what he does and even tho he makes poor choices, there is absolutely no doubt that his passion for music is definitely there and you can tell when he sings its from the greatest and most deep part of him. You can tell in his facial expressions and his voice that when he sings, he is who he wants to be and hes home. While its known that he has battles, youd be a total liar if you did not admit that right there stands a true musician to his heart regardless of his fight with himself.
You're reading way too much into what's going on. Addiction's a sickness that stems from denial. He's hurt fam, fans, friends and band mates several times. I don't think anyone's going to deny how talented he is, especially in studio, but music or any other avenue's never going to remedy what's going on in your sick mind to battle addiction. If you keep doing the same shit, you're going to relapse. Anyways, people are starting to push him back a bit now despite how good he is, which's best for him. - sober 3 years here.
Hate to say it but he was. His range suffered bad on Routine Breathing and some of the tours near the end of his time with the band. Taylor enabled him and I'm so glad he's away from that bitch.
I've listened to Jonny live hundreds of times and can hear this performance being so off for him. It's not "bad" by any singer standards but it sounds like he's not fully there like he usually delivers. The grit, the runs, the belts sure - but the soul isn't there and he sounds like someone else because of it... like if he had a long lost brother that subbed for him this show or something, vaguely sounds like him sometimes but there's another voice there that keeps fighting its way through
And now some dude who has never lived these experiences is singing Jonny's song. Damn shame. Can't wait for Jonny's next project and hope he can get clean
@@JSTPband addiction's not really a choice especially with heroin, but it's always easy to judge someone on the internet when you don't have a clue about anything.

@Андрей Чикипики i agree. I just watched a video of them.playing with matt in October where i live in philadelphia and the band looks so happy playing together and matt fuckin killed it. Hes getting comfortable being there frontman and hes owning that set list the stage and the crowd. I wish i knew they were in my city cause i would've went. I hope they write a new album asap that matt can write on cause he fits perfect. N i think it would be cool if they re recorded some of the best songs off the old albums with matt singing.
BaD LoSs the new cd with Matt is fuckin dope. Sounds less like Jonny Craig slaves and more similar to 131 by emarosa but Matt and the band are making it their own
For the record everyone, heroin makes your voice raspy when you’re high. Him and Taylor said he’d relapsed a couple months before he got kicked from Slaves so that fits the time frame. He’s fucked up here for suuure. I was hooked on heroin for 6 years, I could tell from the moment he started talking.
taking extra subutex (the maintenance therapy medication he is on which is a partial opiate agonist and a partial antagonist so that it both produces some opiate effects and blocks actual opiates such as heroin) doesn't cause your voice to get raspy and really your brain plateaus quickly with that stuff, you won't get super high by taking more of it after a certain point and you never get the rasp, that's heroin af @@robbiejay5115
you guys are crazy, I think he sounded great here. hit all his runs, held the highs... a little more distortion in his voice but there's bound to be small changes considering how singing is affected by the smallest thing from day to day.
